Comments about Fender Jim Root Artist Series Telecaster Electric Guitar:
I bought one of these Tele's about a month ago, and ever since it has been my go-to guitar. The neck plays very well, and yes, this Tele does metal without a problem. However, the Tele I bought had two EMG 60's, both one in the bridge and in the neck, so there was no 81 in the guitar. Fender must have made a mistake while building my Telecaster. This was all fixed though when I put passive pickups in the guitar. This is a very comfortable guitar and not only plays well but has excellent tone. The neck is fast and I was suprised how easily and effortlessly you can shred on this guitar. I highly recommend testing one out in your local music store. If you're not a fan of the EMG's, then try out a Seymour Duncan TB-6 Trembucker for the bridge, you will not regret it.

I bought it 3 years now i believe and it's been my go to guitar. looks amazing on stage and does not have fender twangy tone. heavy as lespual and sustain for days. Only thing i dont like is the scale length, wish it's 24.5 or 25"
Comments about Fender Jim Root Artist Series Telecaster Electric Guitar:
I have wanted a fender for a while, but did not like the tone for the type of music I like to play. I found this guitar and knew it was what I wanted. So, I placed the order and knew I was not making a mistake in doing so.Guitar came about a week after I ordered it. When it got here, I opened the packaging, too the guitar out, and let it warm up to room temp. After that I gave it the once over, tuned it up, plugged it into my Peavey 66505 and went to town. After about an hour, I was greeted by the towns police and asked me to turn it down. The officer also plays guitar and told me he loved the guitar, when he was done doing his duty of course.
Comments about Fender Jim Root Artist Series Telecaster Electric Guitar:
I recently tried one at my local Sam Ash dealer and was blown away right off the bat! Jim Root and Fender were paying very close attention to their work when they made thisPros: The best thing about this guitar besides the pickups which sound very good, are the locking tuners (which are the fender locking or sperzel trim loks I;m not sure its one of the two). I like how I only had to do one or two minor adjustments after I switched tunings (switched 3 times from E standard - D standard - drop C#). The neck plays like butter, very smooth and quick, and I am able to play up on the higher frets very easily.Cons: (Only one) No tone knob and it was a little on the trebly side, but that is easily fixed with an MXR 10-band EQ.All in all very well made guitar, like the paint finish very simple yet attractive. I'll be buying the white one once I get enoguh saved up. And if you've never played EMGs before it'll get you hooked. P.S. to the people on here whining about spending $899, sometimes you have to pay more for better quality so grow some and shut up
Comments about Fender Jim Root Artist Series Telecaster Electric Guitar:
I've always been a huge fan of Jim Root and really wanted his signature Tele, but never got around to it. Just today, my dad bought me a used one in new condition for me for Christmas. I love this guitar. I've only played it once because it's hiding right now until Christmas. THE NECK- Smooth, fast, and perfect shape. Modeled after a Charvel Soloist's neck, it is one of the best necks I have ever experienced. THE PICKUPS- EMG 81/60's. Freakin' roar through any amp and the 60 cleans up VERY nicely for cleans. FEATURES- Locking tuners, Ebony fingerboard (which is rare on a tele), a special No-Caster modeled pickguard, Cut-away/Contour on the neck joint heel for amazing access, and, it's the only Tele with EMG's. I would of never thought this roaring sound would come from a Fender. The guitar is well worth what I paid, even worth $1200. Made in Mexico, but DO NOT have your doubts! The guitar is high quality and comes with a beautiful deluxe tweed / plush case with a cool locking knob design on it. The Matte finish is really cool because it feels smooth and doesnt show scratches, due to the fact that I picked the white model. The finish will look even greater through the years and take on a relic look do to the texture, like Jim said. Overall, I have nothing but love for this guitar. I wish they put straplocks on it, but who cares. I own many signature model guitars ( LTD Alexi, Dean Zero Dave Mustaine, Epi Zakk Wylde) and this one is the best!
Comments about Fender Jim Root Artist Series Telecaster Electric Guitar:
I've always despised fender. As a metal player, single coils on all their guitars simply do not fit the bill. But I've played friends' guitars, and the Strats are comfortable and playable. Then, enter this tele.As a fan of stone sour and admiring slipknot (if not actually liking them) I gave this guitar a shot. First off, 22 instead of 21 frets, never a bad thing. Next, a contour in the back makes it SO much more comfortable to sit with. But to top it off, a mahogany body and EMG's, with a compound ebony fretboard send this through the roof. Although I see many artists playing this tele, I will probably save for his signature strat anyways. This is a must try, even if you hate Slipknot and Stone Sour.P.S. Only Baritone guitars and Mick Thomson's guitar come with heavy strings. But thanks to modern science, you can change them yourself! OMG!
Comments about Fender Jim Root Artist Series Telecaster Electric Guitar:
i ordered this guitar because it seemed like the perfect set up fpr me, charvel contoured neck, two EMG's, simple string through body bridge...and i love telecasters! Was dissapointed from the get go.Poor fret work, poor set-up, intonation wasn't even close. I have heard of al ot of fret problems with these guitars.Overall it sounds great...but, the quality is not there!
Comments about Fender Jim Root Artist Series Telecaster Electric Guitar:
i like this guitar so much but got some issues. It should've had a tone knob to make it more versatile. I love the neck profile and it's jumbo frets. bending is easy. the only problem is that it's not properly set up. the edges os the frets are quite sharp. I like the extra contours in it's body. The volume knob location is fine with me. I'm also pleased with the hard case that goes with it. EMG 60's are great! I just hope that Fender Mexico will also focus more on their quality control. It's a good buy for it's price range! :D
Comments about Fender Jim Root Artist Series Telecaster Electric Guitar:
This is the best telecaster I have ever played. I didn't like active EMGs before. But they sound really GREAT in this guitar.Features are quite simple, but gets you playing. quality is actually pretty good, but, yes, it have some issues, like the schallers and the bridge getting the color off. You will love the guitar, it will add to its mojo.Value: Well. This is a simple but better sounding version of ibanez/jackson whatever metal guitar you like, with the look and feel of a telecaster. It play the blues and the jangle, mind you, the EMG60 GETS REALLY along with the guitar. I play surf rock and jazz with this guitar. Sound: It's subjective; but the guitar is loud, saounds great. Its a lot better than the telecaster american deluxe, which I had to ship back because this guitar just kicked its arse in everything the other tele could do right.I do NOT play metal. I do NOT play metalcore. And this is a fantastic buy.
Comments about Fender Jim Root Artist Series Telecaster Electric Guitar:
I bought this based on the perfect combination of features for me, not even knowing who Jim Root was at the time. It took 3 guitars and many shipping delays from Fender to get one that wasn't flawed from the factory. They all had deep scratch finish flaws. In fact, the third one still had a light scratch in it that mostly rubbed out, and then the guitar got discounted enough so I kept it. I use the same EMG's in all my guitars for my current band project. I don't know why, but this thing just sounds so much more powerful and gritty than anything I own. I absolutley love this thing, and I think I'm going to order the black one. The neck rocks, the sound is awesome, the flat paint is unique and very cool. I love it.
