Comments about Fender Kingman SCE Acoustic Electric Guitar:
It's a pretty solid piece. Well built and the color of the sunburst is probably the best i've seen. Action is a bit high.
My girlfriend and I have a matching set, she plays the Malibu SCE and I play the Kingman SCE (cheesy, right? lol)
Overall, it's a nice guitar but if you are budget minded, you can certainly make your money go a lot farther. With this one, you are buying the flash and nice electronics. If those things don't matter, you should probably move on.
It is a lot of money for a laminate back/side guitar when other companies like Recording King and Blueridge are putting out all-solids in the same price range. (And btw, an all-solid Martin Custom D is just a couple hundred more and worth the difference in the long run)
That said, if you want something for show and flash that plays fairly well through an amp, the Kingman is a good piece.
*It is difficult to find a good case for this guitar. It is close to dread size, but just a hair smaller so it tends to slip and slide in most cases. Be ready to add a little extra padding.
Comments about Fender Kingman SCE Acoustic Electric Guitar:
Very nice guitar for the money- but right from the factory- it has a terrible set up with huge bronze strings. After adjusting the truss rod adding lighter strings, and shaving down the bridge nut by 50% the guitar now plays like butter. I can not believe how bad it was out of the box & how nice it is after some minor work. Probably my BEST playing & sounding elec/acoustic EVER and I have had a few !!!
Comments about Fender Kingman SCE Acoustic Electric Guitar:
I'm so glad I bought this guitar. It's well built, sounds fantastic, has low action, and is anything I could have asked for in a guitar that won't shred my wallet. It rivals my Guild that I've been playing for five years, and will soon take its place . . . .
The Fisman pickups are superb, earthy and/or sparkling as you like. I play through a Fishman LoudBox Mini, and I'm astounded by the tones I can get from this guitar. Solid Spruce top, solid Maghogany back, and laminated Mahogany sides make this guitar fill my house with beautiful acoustic sound with no help from the amp. The C shaped electric neck is an absolutely killer addition, too!
Well built, solid spruce top and back and slick neck make this a no brainer for electric players and anyone else wanting a great, easy to play, and terrific sounding acoustic/electric.
I hope I have stated why I consider a great value to anyone considering the Kingman SCE. . . .
