Comments about Fender Limited Edition American Standard Stratocaster Electric Guitar:

Folks, this Strat is phenomenal! I've been playing, buying, selling and trading guitars for over 40 years and RARELY have I found one this good right "out of the box"! The fit and finish are flawless- NO gaps, imperfections...and I'm very picky! The fretwork- fret ends are dressed and smooth- frets are finished extremely well. No, they are not polished as you'd expect after paying a luthier to do a polish, but excellent nonetheless.

Action measured Fender Spec at 4/64ths- I tweaked it a little lower- could have gone even lower than I did but I like what I like. The trem (vibrato) was cocked a little high so I adjusted the claw / springs- took all of about 5 minutes.

The pickups are sensational. I really like the "Standard" American Standard pups- but these fat 50s have all the shimmer, bark and harmonics of the best Strat pups I've ever played, PLUS they are more controllable in the bridge and bridge/middle positions. For me, most Strat bridge pup positions were harsh and untamable-these can get as bright as you'd like- but you can also dial in a sweet, nuanced tone, too.

I play originals after the order of classic / southern rock, jazz rock and blues. This guitar is the perfect companion for my LP Studio and I'm really glad I got it! The price is great- good "red handled" hard case-what are you waiting for?

I shouldn't have to say this- but if you're looking to play death metal or "whatever-core" look under "I" for Ibanez. This guitar has "Fat 50s" as in 1950s as in Heavy metal meant mercury and lead during that decade.

Comments about Fender Limited Edition American Standard Stratocaster Electric Guitar:

I have owned several Fender Stratocasters through my 45 years of playing guitar & this is one I will keep! Yes I enjoy collecting guitars & own several/numerous but, I am a Pro Musician who constantly gigs with my band, as half of a duo & solo. I've had an original 1967 Stratocaster (which I hated due to the very small neck), a USA California Stratocaster & a Diamond Anniversary Stratocaster (to name a few) all of which were sold off to fund other purchases (only the pieces I do not like are sold off).
With that said, let's talk about THIS Stratocaster! Fit & finish are top notch... play able straight out of the box (2 weeks have past since I received it & I haven't made any tweeks)... the Custom Shop Fat 50s Pick Ups are the best single coils I've heard in a Stratocaster... the Mystic Aztec Gold finish with the Maple Neck looks amazing! NO LOAD TONE CIRCUIT - though other reviewers have negative remarks, I find this circuitry the best Fender has come up with. It allows the player to tone down the bridge pick up as well as the other two pick ups which is something never found on a Stratocaster (their standard configuration does not allow tone control on the bridge pick ups). ((that is why I became the owner of 3 G&L USA Legacys of which will never be sold off))
The Mystic Aztec Gold oozes "mojo" (for what ever reason), fits in well (sound & appearance) with the 50s/60s show band I perform with on a regular basis & it rips up the Blues when I hit a local club!

Comments about Fender Limited Edition American Standard Stratocaster Electric Guitar:

I couldn't be happier with this purchase. This is my 3rd Strat. It plays great. The setup, whether factory or MF, was spot on. The gold finish with the maple neck is beautiful, and it compliments my goldtop LP! Kyle (x3176) was great to work with and went out of his way to ensure a satisfied customer. Delivery was accurate.

Comments about Fender Limited Edition American Standard Stratocaster Electric Guitar:

when the strat has the vibrato bar on and you put it in the case to store, you can not close the case or you will put stress on the vibrato bar all the time. It will only close properly if you remove the bar. I called fender and they said that you are to remove the bar EVERY time you put the guitar in the case and thread it back in the guitar when you want to use it; what a pain!! You should be able to store the guitar with the vibrato bar on and if you use it or not it is there. I can not find a case or feel I have to purchase another case to remedy this. IF you use a gig bag no problem, but no protection like a hard shell case. fender should have addressed this problem as they know about it. putting it on and taking it off all the time is not right. Other then the case issue it is a great axe and looks so cool. If you buy one strat get this one, there is a lot of bang for your buck.

Comments about Fender Limited Edition American Standard Stratocaster Electric Guitar:

My primary use is home, public jams, and church. The pickups are well balanced with a slight pronounced bass response.

The maple neck seems to boost the treble enough to keep the bass in check. The attention to detail is spot on. Everything fits snug, creation great resonance and a solid feel. It truly lives up to being the standard by which a Stratocaster should be.

Comments about Fender Limited Edition American Standard Stratocaster Electric Guitar:

I used to own the Fender Deluxe Strat, over time I felt the guitar's pickups were not cut out to play what I wanted. I wish I had played this guitar first. This has the sound I want and the looks are not notch. I'll probably put locking tuners on it and perhaps a deluxe tremolo but right not I don't feel I need it. .

Read all the reviews and I liked the price. had a 1960 strat that I sold in 1964 (dumb) so I know what they should be like. This one is a winner all the way. gold color is ok and could not see paying 2 or3 hundred for a paint job.
