WOW! Color me shocked coming from the Gibson camp. This Telecaster made me like Fender all over again. The pickup combo is wonderful, a little dark on the neck but can make it work. The rosewood fretboard is super fast, great feel and really like the hand rubbed oil finish. Surf green is one of my favorite colors, the guitar just pops in person.

This is a beautiful guitar but I have been forced to exchange it for the second time. The frets on the first guitar were sharp and needed to be filed and there was excess glue on the sides of the frets. It looked also as if the neck shrunk (though could also have been a really poor file job). I almost kept it but because of how great the action was, but for the price I didn't want to put any money in to it, or risk doing it myself. A quick 10 minute call to musicians friend and an exchange was set up.

The second arrived showing very obvious signs of wear on the case. I was a little annoyed, but it's just a case. Inside I found a guitar with a long scratch and a big chip in the paint. There were pick marks on the guard and small scratches on the back. Clearly a used guitar. The neck was much nicer but the condition was unacceptable. After almost an hour on the phone this time I had to ship off the second guitar. Now I wait and hope to receive on in new condition. It truly is a beautiful guitar with a fantastic feeling neck and great sound, but I am becoming increasingly weary of buying a guitar sight unseen. Hopefully my next guitar will echo all the great reviews I've read.

Comments about Fender Limited Edition American Standard Telecaster Rosewood Neck Electric Guitar:

I love the tone this guitar has when played through my Supro Black Magic combo amp (also purchased from Musician's Friend). The guitar is great in every way - play-ability, balance, and overall performance. The case is a little cheesy though. I expected something much better from Fender given the price of the instrument.

Comments about Fender Limited Edition American Standard Telecaster Rosewood Neck Electric Guitar:

I really enjoy the feel and play-ability of the rosewood neck on this American standard telecaster. I have always loved the look of surf green fenders. The rosewood neck looks great with the surf green. I love the sound of the middle position combination of the twisted tele neck and broadcaster bridge pickups.

I was originally purchasing (had already swiped my card) the same model at a local Guitar Center when a customer suddenly picked the guitar up off the counter by the neck near the headstock, as if he was picking up a frying pan. I decided to fore-go that one and order from Musician's Friend instead.

I took a chance and ordered an open box, "blemished", example for about 20% off the usual price. The guitar arrived in perfect condition and I cannot find any flaw whatsoever. I cannot even find the pick-guard pick scratches that were mentioned in the description of the guitar. The plastic was still on the pick-guard!

I am very pleased with this purchase and enjoy playing this guitar.

Comments about Fender Limited Edition American Standard Telecaster Rosewood Neck Electric Guitar:

I had been looking for a Tele for a while when I had the chance to play one of these beauties at a local store. I instantly fell in love with the tones, the beautiful surf green body and the amazing rosewood neck, but the price was a bit high for my budget.

I was able to buy an open box version here on Musician's Friend for a great price, and am extremely happy with this purchase. It sounds and looks amazing, and the rosewood neck is just a pleasure to play. I can't keep my hands off of it. To be honest I have no idea why this was open box, it looks brand new with the pick guard stickers and everything.

The only thing I am not crazy about is the case. It's not bad, but it's a bit plasticky, and I just feel that this beauty of a guitar deserves a nicer case. It did take good care of the guitar during shipping.

Bottom line - If you are looking for a Tele, and are open to something a bit different than the classic American Standard, definitely pick up one of these before they are gone.

Absolutely gorgeous guitar. Intonation, setup is spot on from the factory. Nice case included. Sounds incredible on a clean channel, and does overdrive well too. I do plan on replacing the vintage bridge pickup with something a little hotter, but that is merely personal preference. This guitar is a keeper. 10/10

Comments about Fender Limited Edition American Standard Telecaster Rosewood Neck Electric Guitar:

Great guitar. Cool finish and love the rose wood neck. Tone is right on the mark and balance is terrific. I had to dial in the set up - cut the slots for all 6 strings, adjust the bridge and pickups for maximum play-ability and performance. Not a big deal for me - been doing it for years and know it's part of what purchasing an instrument is all about.

I thought the Fender hard shell case was fairly fragile. Not the best case on the market, and something less than I expected given the price Fender commands.

It's no secret that the sale promotions M/F runs periodically helps ease the price burden, which is why I purchase my gear there. On-time delivery to my door, and no issues with the mail order company keeps me coming back. I'm surprised people still shop at brick and mortar stores.

M/F has a large selection of gear and great sales - I highly recommend.
