Comments about Fender Limited Edition American Vintage Hot Rod 50's Reclaimed Redwood Telecaster Electric Guitar:

Fender has knocked this one out of the park...for a change. I suppose there are good and not so good instruments that pass on thru the hands of craftsman and inspectors. Unfortunately one rotten apple can spoil the whole barrel. In the past I've purchased some not so good instruments from Fender and prior to this purchase from Musician's Friend I took an oath never to purchase another new Fender. But I'm happy to say I've changed my mind and decided to give them another try... this is one sweet guitar. It meets or exceeds my expectations of what a fine instrument should be. The neck is near perfect as I have a small hand and the D shape fits it nicely. Guitar needed to be tuned when it arrived and once in tune stayed there. The case it comes in is definitely different. I was looking for the old Tweed style instead of the modern looking plastic ( don't know how well it will hold up but appears sturdy ). Can't say I'm overly impressed with the simplistic look of the axe but the feel is incredible. The action is set low ( factory I suppose ) and just to my liking. Strings ( think they're probably Fender Bullets ... 10's I'm guessing ) but they sound incredible even when played thru a cheap Roland Amp. Pickup combo on this Tele is remarkable as it gives a well balanced tone. I play primarily Old Old country and Old Old rock as well as some Jazz standards. This axe can do it all. One of the best playing guitars I've ever picked up. Most of the guitars I've bought ( I own over 20 ) I've had to take in for a professional set up. Not this one. Perfect out of the box. I've owned this guitar for 3 days and already I can tell you this will be my new go to guitar. Beautiful feel, beautiful sound and extremely light weight. Pricey....yes....worth it ? If you're looking for a fine instrument to replicate that country twang, Jazz or Blues then this is right for you. No, not for heavy metal but.... real music. If I lost this I would buy another...Buy it.
