OVERVIEW

A Limited Edition model with a compound-radius fretboard and Custom Shop pickups.

To honor the 60th anniversary of the Stratocaster in 2014, the venerable American Standard Stratocaster now comes in a new limited edition model featuring Fenders innovative channel-bound compound-radius fingerboard and the time-honored look of a Dakota Red gloss finish.

The fingerboard is inlaid into the neck in a design with an elegant appearance and a distinctive fretting-hand feel in which both edges are comfortably rounded, with no side seam between neck and fingerboard. Further, the fingerboards 9.5-14 compound radius graduates smoothly from a more rounded profile at the nut (great for chording) to a more flattened profile near the body (great for soloing). Includes case.

Comments about Fender Limited Edition Channel Bound American Standard Stratocaster Electric Guitar:

Love the feel of the neck, love the color and love the no-load electronics. Really can't think of anything I would change on this well thought out, superbly crafted instrument. Just received it yesterday - no set up required, intonation and action were spot-on straight out of the box ! Literally tuned it up and started playing and didn't stop for 2 hours. Thank you Musicians Friend for being the go to source for pros and hobbyist alike. I started buying from ya'll back in the 80's!

Comments about Fender Limited Edition Channel Bound American Standard Stratocaster Electric Guitar:

My first guitar was a California Series Tele bought in 1997, my second guitar was a Gibson LP bought in 1998 (both bought from Musicians's Friend). I always wanted a Fender strat but could never decide which one to buy. Than I saw the Limited Edition Channel Bound American Standard strat in Dakota Red and knew right away my search was over. I got a good deal from Musician's Friend and 4 days later I had the guitar in my hand. I thought my LP was a beauty, this is a beauty. The finish was superb. Some don't like a channel bound neck but I do, the neck is so smooth, my hand just glides up and down the neck. The compound radius neck makes playing chords in the lower end great and soloing in the dusty end fantastic (the dusty end where we don't like to go sometime). The fat 50's, whats not to like. The 5 way switching give out numerous sounds to work with. I look forward to many hours playing this welcome addition and anyone wanting a strat will not be disappointed if they decide to pick this one.

Comments about Fender Limited Edition Channel Bound American Standard Stratocaster Electric Guitar:

I bought a Fender California series tele in 1997 and a Gibson LP in 1998, (both bought from Musician's Friend) I still own both guiters to this day. I always wanted to play a Fender strat but never got around to deciding which one I wanted. After tons of research, speaking with other players and checking out different strats I still could not make up my mind. Than I saw the Fender Limited Edition Channel Bound American strat in Dakota Red. As soon as I saw it I thought this is what I have been looking for. Musician's Friend gave me a great deal on the financing and 4 days later I had it in my hands. I was very impressed with the quality of this guitar, the neck is so smooth, your hand just glides around. The tone is great and with the 5 way switch there is numerous variations to choose from. The custom fat 50's are excellent. Some don't like the channel bound neck but I found it very comfortable to play chords in the lower end and solos in the dusty end (that end where some of us don't like to go). I thought I would never like any guiter more than my LP but I was wrong.
