Comments about Fender Modern Player Mustang Electric Guitar:

WOW!! What a surprise this is. China Made Modern player series-Japanese quality! Right out of the box setup is right where I like it. No buzz or tuning issues but I DO NOT use the vibrato bar. Solid build quality, Resonant Pine body,Nice sounding P90 pickups, Vintage tuners, Fit and finish Excellent,2- 3 way slider switches(On/Off/Phase left to right for each pickup) Which are VERY versitale in tone variation. The cavities are shielded so hum is not to bad, Neck has some girth to it which I like (Not to thin or fat)Just right. Only small issue I have with it is it came with no Fender booklet manual for registering it for warranty. Only box and small plastic bag with trem bar and allen wrenches needed for adjustments. Bought an American Special Mustang 1st, Sent it back and exchanged it for this. Which I like MUCH better!!! Also would have been nice to come with a case or at least a gigbag for it. I have owned a Pawn shop Japan Mustang and this one seems built just as well as that, Except this one was setup better!! Transparent Daphne blue looks so much better in person then the picture. As another reviewer stated the high "E" string is closer then usual to the edge of the fretboard because of the bridge width but doesn't bother me any. All in all this is a great guitar that I love playing regardless of what country it is built in. Seems like Fender china has stepped up their game like Epiphone has!! Thanks M.F. for the superior customer service you ALWAYS give me!!!

Comments about Fender Modern Player Mustang Electric Guitar:

I saw this guitar before Christmas, plugged it in to a reissue Princeton Reverb and the tone just came flowing out. These P90's are just the ticket. The inside cavities are all shielded so there is no hum. There are USA switch craft sliders for pickup configuration. I was unable to ascertain what the pots were do to the wiring and soldering obscuring the labels. The build quality is excellent and the neck feels just right in my hands. I'm usually a sunburst kind of guy; but the translucent Daphne Blue finish is absolutely gorgeous. Mine is a little on the heavy side at 7.5 pounds on the bathroom scale. If you can keep your hands off the dynamic vibrato (it's OK to rest your palm there though) it stays in tune. I knew there was going to be a tuning battle going into the purchase if I used the vibrola, anyone who has experience with the dynamic vibrola knows what I am talking about. But there are some helpful postings on you tube and the forums how others have handled this issue so I'll go that route. If it doesn't workout I'll lock it down like others have. It's do-able. If I can stabilize the tremolo I'll have a roller nut installed. I purchased mine on an after Christmas blow out. Get ready for this, the guitar is about an inch taller than my American Deluxe Stratocaster; but still fits inside of the Fender deluxe gig bag. Intonation on mine is perfect. This guitar is just oozing fun and excellent rhythm and lead tones. I don't use pedals so I'll leave that to another poster. 22 frets on this beast so it is in fact a full size guitar. This is a great underrated guitar! Plus now I own a Fender with a pine body!
