Comments about Fender Modern Player Stratocaster HSH Electric Guitar:

This is a First Quality guitar. I own a Diamond Series Srat that costs 3 times as much and this guitar compares favorably across the board. The crimson red finsish doesn't show as much grain as the photo but is still beautiful. It feels much like my more expensive Strat, with a smooth sync tremolo. Great for Jeff Beck style stuff. The humbuckers are the brighest I've ever heard. They just don't sound like Strat single coils is all. I'm going to put in some Texas wound pickups but I am definitely reusing these on my next DIY which will be more like a PRS. They are great and have a fantastic sear. They just can't handle songs like 'Little Wing' with harmonized rhythm lines. They breakup like a humbucker... which they are. The guitar is dead quiet in all but the middle switch position. The second and third positions sound great with the HB SC combo. And I like that the headstock doesn't have a 'Serial Number of Shame' like Fender used to put on MIM Strats. Neck is straight. No buzz or dead frets. The vintage tuning pegs feel like they will slip when you're tuning the guitar but I've been wailing on it for about 16 hours and only had to tune it a couple times in the first few hours, due to the new strings stretching. I'm going to sell my Diamond Series and make this my #1 Strat, so that should tell you something.

Comments about Fender Modern Player Stratocaster HSH Electric Guitar:

I bought this guitar as a replacement to a fender stat Squire that I have had for years That never played right from the get go. I was a little hesitant becuase of the the squire, but wanted the strat sound, I was so supprised how nice this guitar plays. I just love this guitar! I wish I would have bought it sooner, Great looking finish and feels just right. This Is the nicest guitar.

Comments about Fender Modern Player Stratocaster HSH Electric Guitar:

Aside from features and sound, the guitar arrived in pretty much perfect condition. China or no China, the setup was great, finish was flawless and semi transparent wood grain is quite nice.
Modern-player humbuckers are a balance of traditional 58PAF sound+some bite, though they are a bit thinner (more Strat-like?) in this guitar. I may add a coil split to the neck and move the bridge pickup closer to the strings, but otherwise this is a great Strat for those players, like myself, who have always considers Stat sounds a bit too thin. And the price is right: this could easily be a 499/599 priced instrument and still deliver great value.

Comments about Fender Modern Player Stratocaster HSH Electric Guitar:

This guitar is a big step up for me from my Xaviere LP copy and Ibanez G10 guitars. In fact it's a big step up from most any guitar I've had, including a Tex-Mex Strat and an ESP LTD (great guitars, ESP, BTW).
MY AMP(Bugers V22) LOVES THIS GUITAR!!!
Just got it, setup was perfect, intonation was good, haven't checked yet, seems to be settling into tune, tremolo seems good, sounds great. Just got it, so we'll see. So far, so great.
SUPER VERSATILE. I don't think it can be matched, really. A large variety of single coil and humbucker tones, very well thought out IMHO.
LOOKS GREAT TOO !! Beautiful even. Thought I would rather have it in natural but seeing that red, maybe not.
Well, this is my first ever review, I'm that pleased, but I would like to summarize.
YOU OWE IT TO YOURSELF TO AT LEAST GIVE THIS ONE A TRY. Thanks.

Comments about Fender Modern Player Stratocaster HSH Electric Guitar:

            Guitar player for 44 years.
Welp after setting up the intonation and removing the bow in the neck the guitar plays great smooth and easy to play.
I replaced all pickups with EMG's neck-89R,middle-SA and bridge with a 81TW and went with string-saver saddles for the tremelo.
My 1976 strato has a much thicker neck so this one feels thin to me while others say it feels thick.
Bottom line it plays great once it's set up.
Tremelo works fine but i will put a Super-Vee BladeRunner tremelo on it.
All these mods are just for my taste.
For the price you can't go wrong with this guitar if you're looking for a Fender Stratocaster with humbuckers.
I really don't care that it is made in China.
Sure it's not my 1976 Strato but nothing is ;-)
Great price and can be made into a sweet solid mahogany body Strato.

Comments about Fender Modern Player Stratocaster HSH Electric Guitar:

This is a very good guitar. Action was very low on mine but with about 10 minutes of tweaking it plays like butter with zero fret buzz. The frets seem a bit different than typical strat frets, but not worse. They are more rounded, you will notice on string bends. (just an observation, no issues with the frets)

If you bend, you absolutley have to tweak this guitar a bit. If you have a gentle touch you may like how the action comes stock, otherwise raise it.

Another thing worth mentioning is the pickups. They are fantastic and sound super mellow. You can get alot of tone out of the bridge humbucker and the neck humbucker is great for blues scaling on a clean setting.

The only minor flaw with this guitar is you have to work hard for sustain. (this may be because the action is still on the low side, but I love how the guitar plays now and dont want to mess with it anymore)

As far as the whole made in china debate goes, I have looked this guitar over for flaws thoroughly and cannot find a single one. The neck feels amazing, the body is beautifully finished mahogany, the transparent crimson looks awesome.

Loved this guitar, the humbuckers drive the amp great but still retain that strat tone everyone loves. Finish is very nice and the neck feels great, when plugged into a tube amp this guitar shines, very nice pickups for the money spent. I plan on selling a few things to make room for this one. LOVE IT!!

Comments about Fender Modern Player Stratocaster HSH Electric Guitar:

This guitar is surprisingly good for the price. I got the red stain mahogany and the body finish was eye poppingly beautiful. The pickups and switching are versatile. The middle position single coil has the brightness of a regular strat and the neck and bridge humbuckers provided plenty of bite. I was expecting wimpy sounding pickups with this but that isn't the case. The overall sound is bright, with plenty of definition.
The 2 and 4 positions give that nice chimy Fender tone (I believe one coil of the neck and bridge humbuckers are tapped together with the middle single coil for these two positions). In general, the sound is a little darker than a regular Strat, but that is a function of the mahogany body. The pickups are nice and loud, though I had to raise the middle pickup slightly to compensate for the humbuckers.
The tremolo is stable, and although it is stamped metal, is a 2 point tremolo with block saddles, modeled on the equipment in the Fender Deluxe models. Chrome finished unlike the matt satin of the more expensive model, but very functional. Time will tell if the finish will bear up under sweaty palms.
The guitar came out of the box with a fairly high action and a slight inbow of the neck. I adjusted the truss rod to straighten the neck and adjusted the saddle heights to comform to the radius of the neck. The tremolo was sitting a little high, with some float. I prefer my tremolo to lie flat, and I added a 4th tremolo spring (which is not provided with the guitar). Minor adjustments if you are familiar with this kind of work.
One thing I noticed while playing this guitar is that the neck is highly lacquered, and this makes for some friction between the palm and the neck with extended play. May need to sand this down. I much prefer the satin necks.
Overall, with a little bit of work, this Fender performs splendidly. The workmanship is good, with no sharp fret edges or finish imperfections. I know this guitar is made in China, but it is comparable to a Mexican strat, and the H/S/H combination is unique, giving this guitar a special voice.
