All-mahogany warmth with a open pore finish for more natural appeal.

An expansion of the Paramount Series acoustic guitars, the Paramount Series PM-1 Standard All-Mahogany Dreadnought Acoustic Guitar combines simple styling with organic-looking finish to create a highly responsive instrument. Carefully crafted for superior tone, high performance and earthy visual appeal, this premium instrument will satisfy all players searching for an inspiring guitar. The open-pore mahogany top is extremely lively, with a lush, warm voice and enhanced dynamic range that responds to every nuance of your playing, no matter how hard or fast you strum and pick. The scalloped X-braces are carefully placed for detailed note definition, working in harmony with the top for the perfect amount of ringing sustain.

The rich, all-solid mahogany back and sides work with the top for well-balanced, earthy and organic tone. The fast-playing "C"- shaped mahogany neck and rosewood fingerboard are carefully crafted to accommodate any playing style while offering comfortable performance anywhere on the neck. The durable ebony bridge pins and bridge with compensated bone nut add a rich note to the warm voice of the guitar and create accurate intonation, as well as being stylish aesthetic touches. The open-pore finish allows the guitar to resonate freely, making the instrument breathe with lively tone.

Includes deluxe hardshell case and humidifier.

Comments about Fender Paramount Series PM-1 Standard All-Mahogany Dreadnought Acoustic Guitar:

I've been fortunate enough to be able to test out every different model in Fender's Paramount lineup, and this is my favorite hands-down. I suspect it's the open-pore finish that makes such a huge difference between this and the others (which, don't get me wrong, are all incredible guitars). The combined lack of a thick finish and clunky pickup/preamp system contribute to this being one of the lightest guitars I've ever held, and that in turn plays a huge role in making this guitar incredibly resonant and loud. The tone is earthy, but with a fair amount of presence. It's not what I'd call overly bright, though (although some 80/20 strings might inch it closer to that territory).

I've played five different examples of this exact model, and I have to say that while they're all great guitars, especially at this price point, two were extreme standouts. The other three were definitely guitars I wouldn't mind gigging, and they were all comfortable and well set-up from the factory, but two of them were truly special instruments, for which I would have expected to pay twice the asking price. The upshot is that buying this guitar is like a low-risk, high-odds lottery. Your worst-case-scenario is that you'll get one of the non-standouts; your best-case-scenario is that you come away with a truly incredible instrument that, well-taken-care-of, will be a true "forever guitar."

Lastly, let me mention the case. If you're coming from one of Fender's cheaper acoustic models that included a case, you might be used to a somewhat shoddily-built shell that, while offering decent protection, always felt about ten seconds from collapsing into a pile of latches and screws. That's not the case with this case. Again, Fender really stepped it up here. I won't throw it in the cargo hold of an airliner, but I'm comfortable with it in a truck full of amps and speakers. Fender has been a lot more stingy with the case candy these days, but they did include a humidifier. Oops; out of characte

Comments about Fender Paramount Series PM-1 Standard All-Mahogany Dreadnought Acoustic Guitar:

Be warned! I purchased this guitar from MF on 10/8/16 - at the time of purchase, it was listed as an Acoustic-Electric like the other Fender Paramount models. However be warned, this is NOT an Acoustic-Electric guitar as it's listed. After receiving my guitar, I'd noted that there was no internal electronics as I'd previously assumed based on what was listed.

Looking at other Paramount series models, you can see there is a preamp/EQ/Tuner built into the body - this specific model does not have that. After contacting MF customer service, they are allowing me to return the guitar.

I only played it for about 2 minutes before putting it back in the case and boxing it back up - to retain as much of a mint condition as possible. The guitar sounded decent, but the thing that was almost shocking to me was how insanely light in weight it is. It's unexpectedly light from other acoustics I own.

Overall, I was mainly disappointed that this instrument didn't have electronics like they were advertised.

Trading it in and going with the PM-1 Standard Dreadnought instead.
