The new Road Worn Player Series guitars take the experience a step further with modern player-centric modifications, including hotter pickups for smoldering, gritty tone and a flatter fingerboard for smooth, effortless bends. Lightly aged with care, Road Worn Player guitars feel immediately comfortable and familiar, offering endless miles of musical inspiration.

The Road Worn Stratocaster HSS guitar features an alder body with a lightly worn lacquer finish, modern C-shaped maple neck with lightly worn urethane finish, rosewood fretboard with 9.5" radius and medium-jumbo frets, Texas Special neck and middle pickups, Seymour Duncan Pearly Gates humbucking bridge pickup, 5-way switching, aged knobs and switch tip, 3-ply pickguard, vintage-style synchronized tremolo bridge, and deluxe gig bag.

Comments about Fender Road Worn Player Stratocaster HSS Electric Guitar:

I'll give this a three star because of its average quality for the price I paid. If I bought this at full retail this would have been a one star. I've been playing for close to 30 years and I generally have played "average" quality guitars, except for one US made telecaster which is what I think is representative of real American made higher quality (not ridiculous high end, but solid quality guitar). So even comparing this guitar to my experience with average guitars, this guitar was barely average. I wanted to love this guitar, especially after seeing all the five star reviews. Maybe I got a bad one, but in my opinion this could never have been worth the original retail price. I bought this at the close out price thinking this would be a decent guitar based on the mid-level price and favorable reviews. Well, learned again, you get what you pay for. Is it bad at the price I paid? No, but it is not even close to the quality that I was expecting based on the reviews. I was really surprised that even the pickups which are supposed to be very good just didn't play well together on this guitar. There was a large discrepancy in volume between them so difficult to use them in a live situation, so maybe I just got a bad one, or more likely, the humbucker is just too hot relative to the singles. Also the tremolo arm did not feel like it was securely attached even though it was screwed in all the way - there is a lot of extra travel in the arm when you push down and pull up so the arm would move ahead of the actual bridge moving, so did not have a positive/solid action to it. Maybe that is how they are but the guitar overall just felt low quality to me. The neck was ok, but overall this guitar just felt very lightweight. I wanted to like this, and it did look cool (although I wouldn't normally want a distressed guitar, not into that, but at the price I was willing to overlook...), but it just didn't sound good and the whammy was usable (but maybe something was wrong with it on the one I got). MF was very good to deal with as usual on this and I'll be looking for another Strat, but never again will I fall into the trap of believing you can get high quality at extremely low price - it just doesn't happen (at least not to me so far, I've been burned every time...: )

Comments about Fender Road Worn Player Stratocaster HSS Electric Guitar:

Awesome Duncan Pearly Gates in the bridge. I play with a lot of gain and this kills. Why have an HSS strat if you don't use a tone of gain?

The Texas Specials are cool also. With a maple board, this guitar may have been too bright, but it sounds great with rosewood.

The vibe is pure road worn. The neck is awesome with the lacquer worn. Just a little wood shows on top of the body form apparent elbow grease - cool!

Comments about Fender Road Worn Player Stratocaster HSS Electric Guitar:

I've played & owned a lot of American and MIM Strats. This one has the best tone and feel of any MIM that I've played. I bought one for a great price as these are being discontinued and are now about half of the original street price.

The Pearly Gates bridge pup is bright, bold and in your face without being harsh. I don't play a lot of cleans, but you can still get the Texas blues stratty tone out of the middle and neck pickups. The neck -with the finish mostly worn off- is to die for. This guitar fits me like a comfortable old shirt.

The relic job is subtle, but it is very realistic as though you've owned and played this guitar every day for ten years. It's NOT ground down to a piece of sawdust (think of Rory Gallagher's!) but it definitely looks played. The tremolo arm feels loose AND you can whammy it both ways (even though it's a vintage 6-point trem). Cool!

I HIGHLY recommend that you try this one out if you are looking for an HSS strat. Grab one if you still can!

Picked this up in s s s configuration. Understated wear. Not as relied as my 50s road worn tele. I have a matching pair two tone sunbursts. I threw a black pickguard on the tele looks way better. They are very different feeling but both sound like a strat and tele should. Prefer to any American guitar at any price. I'm a gigging musician in a cover band and these fenders hold their own along my prs custom 24 and my gibson les paul blackwater with piezo ghost system. If you wat fender tone and feel the roadworn series foots the bill.

I am surprised to see so few reviews of this guitar!

It has a great tone, looks nice, has great playability and it is well built. It just needed a little calibration when unpacked, once done it sounded great! Without a doubt, it has better tone than many other strats.

I bought this in Inca Silver. Looks awesome. I love the pickups in this guitar, especially the humbucker in the bridge. Sounds great.

I run mine through a Frontman 212r and reminds me alot of a John Mayer kinda sound (although I can't play like that).

I bought mine used for a great price and I would recommend this guitar to anyone. It's as nice as the American Standard strat and I think looks cooler - can't go wrong here!

Comments about Fender Road Worn Player Stratocaster HSS Electric Guitar:

The day i took this guitar home it blew me away. I play a bunch of different styles and i need a guitar that is versitile, and this one did it. t switched out the humbucker for a seymour duncan invader and the single coils for texas specials and that really gave me the crunch i need for punk and fuzzy grunge and it gave me that classic strat tone for blues soloing. If you are like me and need a guitar that can give you a bunch different tones for different styles then you need this guitar.
