Comments about Fender Road Worn Player Telecaster Electric Guitar:

I looked everywhere to play this guitar, and it is only available online. I took a chance knowing it is returnable if needed, and I am glad I did.
After opening up the box, I checked it out top to bottom. Since it is road worn, I can't say there were any issues with shipping.
I started into the setup, and realized that it was way off. After completing the setup per the specs, the action is nice and smooth, and the neck is just what I was looking for. After adjusting the pickups, the tones started to pour out. Just roll the volume back and forth and go from gritty to smooth.
If Fender wants to sell a few more of these, they need a better setup from the factory and put them on the shelves. Once you pick one up, you will not put it down.
I give it a four because of the setup, but it is built well enough to handle the adjustments. Once it is set, the sky is the limit.

One of the best guitars I have played!

Comments about Fender Road Worn Player Telecaster Electric Guitar:

Out of the box the neck needed a little straightening, no big deal allen wrench's supplied. I like the worn look ( you dent or scratch it you don't care!) the neck is so "smooooooth" to play. The Seymour Duncan 59 neck pickup is great in this guitar!. The Tex Mex bridge although strong was a little to bright for my taste,I replaced with a SD Hot tele lead STl-2 (great combo w/59). I also added a Fender Bigsby Vibrato Kit. (See link for Pic's) Now I have a very nice versitle guitar. Thanks MS.
59 Duncan neck Humbucker, worn neck, the best part it plays great!!!!!!

        Very Cool Guitar

        By Tanuki Shady

        Ask me a question

Comments about Fender Road Worn Player Telecaster Electric Guitar:

This guitar plays and sounds great! You have to spend time to get the pickup heights adjusted for the right tone and balance, but when you get the sweet spot, it's a great sounding instrument for rock. Doesn't have as much twang as some teles, but one could use it for country. I preferred it over the American Standard and Deluxe teles because of the narrower neck (wouldn't be good for players with thick fingers), the Duncan '59 humbucker, and the nitro finish. I didn't think I'd like the "road worn" style at all, but it feels comfortable, just like the ads say, and it's not extreme in this series. I absolutely recommend trying out this guitar for rock, since that's what I play.

        Smooth...

        By Anonymous

        from Undisclosed

Comments about Fender Road Worn Player Telecaster Electric Guitar:

I got this guitar on Friday and just returned home from my first practice with my praise and worship team. I got compliments on the tone of this guitar compared to my other Made In Japan tele. The neck is smooth as silk and plays so easily. The pots are smooth have a very nice taper to them. The 3 position switch with these pickups is right on the money. The tex mexbridge has that nice tele spank. The neck humbucker is smooth and mellow. It is perfect for rhythm. The in middle position is truly right in between. Good for solos or rhythym. The road worn finish isn't over done. It just looks like I have been playing it for a few years. The guitar doesn't look like a piece of junk like previous road worn guitar. I couldn't be any happier with this purchase. I am impressed wit the quality of guitar Fender is building in Mexico. I didn't give it 5 on features because it is a Tele. Us tele lovers don't care about features, we care about tone and playability. This guitar has both.
