The Fender Select Stratocaster HSS takes the refined elegance of its triple-single-coil brother and amps it up through the roof with the extra power of a humbucking bridge pickup. Features include a striking gloss-lacquer finish on a sleek flame maple-top body. Its modern “C” shaped birdseye maple neck has a comfortable contoured heel, Bi-Flex™ truss rod system for rock-solid stability, a satin lacquer finish and rear-headstock “Fender Select” medallion. The smooth-playing compound radius rosewood fretboard (9.5”-14”) has 22 medium jumbo frets and stylish white pearloid position inlays. Full-throated sound roars from the Fender Select Stratocaster humbucking bridge pickup, with singing tone from new Fender Select Stratocaster single-coil neck and middle pickups-all combined with five-way switching and a no-load tone control that delivers the natural uncolored sound of the humbucking bridge pickup when dimed.

This is my 3rd American Strat. The Select model is by far superior in every way. The compound radius neck makes the guitar work above the 12th fret a breeze. The sustain in the guitar is noticeable better than my American Deluxe.

I bought this guitar two days ago. As I have played a Gibson SG for close to eight years, I have only recently switched to Fender Products. In addition, to this guitar, I own a 1997 American Standard Stratocaster. This guitar is superior to the aforementioned strat in every regard. It sounds amazing, it looks amazing, and the craftsmanship is of the highest quality. I play it through a Fender Twin Reverb and the clean tone is beautiful. The humbucker also adds an additional bite that is useful in playing harder rock styles. I am very happy with my purchase, and I would recommend this instrument to any Fender fan or any guitarist in general. Great product, hands down. Hopes this helps. Peace

Looks better in person than in pictures.
This is my 3rd American Strat. The Select Strat has the best fret job out of the 3.

Wow. These play great. The compound radius is so comfortable. The Select humbucker sounds great, too. Nice and rich, and you get some real nice controlled feedback w/ some gain. 9 out of 10 only because while the single coils sound really rich too, but they're still single coils and they do have that 60 cycle hum. Beautiful wood, as well. Even better in person.
Your basic Strat features.
Solid.
Pretty decent price for a very nice guitar. Fender did a good job on these.
