Comments about Fender Select Telecaster Flame Maple Top Chambered Ash Body Electric Guitar:

This guitar plays and sounds great imho. The pick ups sounded crisp and clean ; better than my '52 Tele American reissue, and my American standard tele and almost as good ( to me of course )as my American deluxe tele. The set-up was perfect right out of the box. (Yes, I checked with gauges.) The neck looks and plays wonderfully. The finish was not as nice as the guitars I had seen on youtube. It had 3 thin brown stain lines on the top, about 4" apart from each other that looked like a stain application mistake. The real issue for me tho was that this guitar was neck heavy. When I strapped it on the neck took a nose dive like an old Hofner Beatle bass or Gibson SG I once owned. My other teles and strats weigh in at between 7.5 and 8.8 lbs. This guitar was 5.8 lbs. If I put 2 lbs of counterweight on the back end of the strap , the guitar hung like my other guitars.
I know that they make straps and such to correct the neck issue, but for me I had tried this with other guitars and it did'nt work out.Regretably I sent the guitar back the next day.

Comments about Fender Select Telecaster Flame Maple Top Chambered Ash Body Electric Guitar:

This guitar looks beautiful and feels very comfortable to play for both chords and single-note lines. When playing chords, it is very resonant and there is great clarity of note-separation. The tone knob has a wide range that can take you from mellow jazz sounds to classic in-your-face tele twang.

The pickups are pretty low output, and in combination with the chambered ash body this seems to make the guitar particularly open sounding, even with a kind of acoustic quality when playing clean. But I would say that the guitar overall sounds slightly warmer than a normal telecaster.

The unusually light body weight is also ideal for a smaller-statured player such as myself, and the bellycut adds a nice touch for extra comfort.

I'm very pleased to have gotten this guitar.

Fender Select Series Telecaster (Violin Burst)

Comments about Fender Select Telecaster Flame Maple Top Chambered Ash Body Electric Guitar:

I love this guitar. It is the best guitar I have.
This tele comes with a really nice case. The two-tone tweed case. It has a Select medallion in the case. There's even a guitar cable in the case. And a strap. And a big card saying it's one of the first 100 made. It is definitely the nicest guitar I own.
It is, hands down, the nicest guitar I have ever owned.
When you hold it, you would think it cost a lot more. It looks really expensive.

              Great Guitar

Comments about Fender Select Telecaster Flame Maple Top Chambered Ash Body Electric Guitar:

I wasnt sure what to expect when I purchased this high end Fender telecaster but I was glad I took the plunge and placed the order. Great quality and great tone similar to what you could expect when purchasing a fender Custome Shop Guitar except at a lower price. I have a Custom Shop telecaster that I purchased about 10 years ago and the Fender Select is right in line with the custom shop guitar in both tone and quality. Sounds Great, looks great and plays great
