Comments about Fender Standard Roland-Ready Stratocaster Electric Guitar:

Other than having the Roland GK pickup and controls built in, this is a normal MIM Standard Strat. It would be nice if it had more colors to choose from. The current boring colors just don't match the fantastic things this guitar can do when hooked up to a Roland guitar synth! I would recommend this guitar for someone who doesn't have other guitars they want to use the GK pickup and controls on. I have 19 guitars that are Roland GR compatible, so I have to stick with the bulky portable external GK controls.
This is NOT the "regular" Standard Strat, but the Roland Ready model. It has the built in GK3 Roland pickup and controls. This is meant for using with Roland's GR55 and other GR guitar synthesizers.
Considering the fact that the Roland controls are built in instead of having the usual big ugly GK external controller and extra wires, this is a good value!

Comments about Fender Standard Roland-Ready Stratocaster Electric Guitar:

I had mine set up by a professional guitar mechanic ( Chris Greenley-Oklahoma Music and Sound) and he tightened and tweak a lot of things that should have been factory ready . It plays great and tracks well with the GR55 and has been a work horse on live gigs
I have a number of Strats and bought this one this summer. I like it and have played it without effects and with and everyone says the sound is fat and clear as a bell. I think the set up made a big difference.

Mixing your sounds and getting the right tones on the fly can be a little tricky at first but once you get that down you can do some amazing things with the right midi device.

What a rip-off!

Comments about Fender Standard Roland-Ready Stratocaster Electric Guitar:

Whatever you do, DON'T invest in this model. It is not worth it.
There is nothing very exciting about this guitar. It is just plain and simple, but it costs about four times what it ought to cost.
I have played one of the Standard Stratocasters that are now this price. These guitars are excessively heavy, because of the alder wood and the electronics. Also, I don't like the way Fender necks are not angled for good intonation. Therefore, those stupid string trees need to be put on the headstock.
This Standard Stratocaster electric guitar looks like the others that I have seen for the price, but it costs more! Come on, Fender! What happened to the fact that Standard Stratocasters were supposed to be AFFORDABLE? These used to be sold for as little as half the price, but why in the world did you have to nearly double your prices for the "most affordable" model?
