I have an MIA deluxe (noiseless pups), MIA standard and MIM FSR (ash body, noiseless pups) stratocasters. So my comments have those guitars as reference point.

Strats are awesome guitars for the money. If you learn how to use the the pickups selector switch and volume you can get squealing high sounds to muted low sounds to cover a great many musical genres.

I've seen the quality of MIMs go UP from the mid 90s to now. The finish on my LPB strat is impecable. The gloss maple neck quality is awesome - as good or very close to being as good as the MIA neck. I love the pickups actually. You will only be able to convince yourself you don't like them if you haven't heard about the pups switch, volume and tone knobs. I think they are awesome! Maybe I just got lucky but the magnets even have chamfered edges like custom shop pups. If this is your only guitar and you are looking for some specific soud then yeah I can see how you may want to change them, otherwise keep em. They have charisma!

I think the noiseless pups have a little less character than the ones that come with MIA and MIM standards. In addition you lower the volume knob to about 7 and the noise is gone.

The strat body is the most comfortable ever invented. I set mine up with 11s, lock the string at the tuning post and put 5 tremolo springs on it for tuning stability. I keep the bridge floating but don't use tremolo. Sound (even unplugged) is awesome.

So yeah I'd recommend today's MIM Standard Strat for beginners, intermediate and pros alike. The quality for the price is outstanding!

Hardware had to be tightened, neck had to be tightened and adjusted which cracked the finish by the neck joint, finish very thick in that area, luckily its very hard to see, I don't count the bridge adjustments because that is a matter of each players comfort, small scratches on the top by the strap button, and a few small dents where your arm rests, looks like they were in the wood and finished over. Nice feeling and sounding guitar, maybe I got a bad one. Luckily I got it on sale, I understand its a cheaper guitar but I think they could do better than that. I'd like to get a white one but not at the price, I will wait for another sale and cross my fingers in hopes I get a good one. I recommend it but only to those who have done guitar repair before, not to a beginner.

Comments about Fender Standard Stratocaster Electric Guitar:

I bought this with hesitation as you should usually try out the guitar you are buying first but MF had such a great deal going on I couldn't resist. The Guitar came well packed and play decently out of the box. Of course I had to set it up but now plays great. I added a set of fat 50's pups from MF (shop around, get your best deal and then come back to MF) and the guitar plays better then my MIA strat, no kidding. So save yourself a bundle and do it this way. Spend the extra money on a great amp.

Comments about Fender Standard Stratocaster Electric Guitar:

This guitar really surprised me. Really solid construction. Had to make some bridge adjustments to get get the action where I like it but that aside, this thing is great. Records really well so far. Doesn't take much more than medium gain before the bridge pick up loses definition but I have found this on higher end Fender single coil stock models also. I am debating swapping pickups but the lower gain/clean tones I've recorded so far I really like so maybe I'll just leave it as is.

Comments about Fender Standard Stratocaster Electric Guitar:

I've owned this guitar for 6 months, and I'm not disappointed with my purchase. When I was considering buying this I played this guitar and a mia strat. This mim strat put the mia strat to shame. It plays awesome, has a nice range of sound.

There were a few issues with this guitar when I got it, but all easy fixes. I threw 10-46 gage strings on it, meaning the bridge had to be adjusted. Also had to do a truss rod adjustment on it as well. Now it plays perfect.

The only other issue I have with the guitar is the fret wire isn't flush with the neck. An issue I'm still trying to figure out how to fix without paying someone to do. (Only reason I gave it 4 stars)

If your considering buying this guitar, go for it. For the money you spend, its worth every cent.

            Don't doubt mexican strats!

The guitar looks amazing. perfect gloss fingerboard, white finish with offwhite pickguard, decent stock electronics (i upgraded the guts). Low action, great plability, good strat tone

This guitar is my pride and joy. I've absolutely perfected it. I replaced the pickups and electronics with better parts, shielded the cavities, upgraded the tuners and string trees, blocked the tremolo, and more. Its the best electric guitar i own right now.

Oh by the way - it came perfectly set up and in tune, something i wasnt expecting from a mexican made strat!

I have a number of really good guitars. I play out alot and like to use different guitars to change things up a little. I didn`t expect much when I bought this but I was wrong. This is a really nice sounding guitar, nice looking (lake Placid Blue) and has a pretty good feel to it. I`ll be using this on stage very soon..

I was planning on a sub par instrument for the price, but what I received was a surprisingly great guitar. Great finish, super neck, no sharp frets (which was one of my fears), finish was perfect, and after a slight set up, it played as good as my fret dressed $$$$ guitars. I am impressed, and it looks cool. Plus you can upgrade anything on this thing to only improve an already great guitar. Definitely worth the money on this guy!

I have a 1989 black one , 1997 olympic white, and now a 2012 lake placid blue one. They really sound about the same. The only problem I ever had was with the 89 when I broke the tremolo bar on a Hendrix request. If you're thinking about getting one of these and should you spend more money on a more expensive model (I have a couple of those too); save your money and get one of these. The lake placid blue is almost a turquoise and is quite stunning. One other note: I bought all three guitars from MF along with lots of other guitars and gear over the years and they have always been fantastic.

I Really Love this fender strat.. realy realy on a very very nice budget for a player who want a vintage sound.. I've been using this for more than a year now., I used to be a Rock player, love such speed & fast lick.. after a year ago, I just listen to some Old song(50's, 60's, 70's until 90's).. then I heard some vintage blues lick and I feel the energy of the tone, then I just starting love vintage sounding. recently I just realized that you are not look a pro if you can play a fast thing. it's not just about how complicated is your lick but it is about the quality of your lick, so people can feel you play better.. just want to remind that people opinion about Electric guitar + Distortion = Annoying & Noising..
Anyway this is realy cool guitar..
I highly recomend this guitar for Any genre..
if want a Thicker distortion just raplace the bridge pickups with the Dimarzio fast track or somethings like that..

Comments about Fender Standard Stratocaster Electric Guitar:

This is the best guitar for the price as for reliability is concerned. I have owned other brands guitars in this price range but none were of decent quality resulting in failure of the electronics in very short time. This strat is just fine for me playing thrash metal, classical, and some jazz.

The ony modification I made was I adjusted the vintage tremelo so it would float similar to a floyd rose and replaced the bridge pick up with a Seymour Duncan "Hot Rails."

My only problem is that the curved radius of the neck makes it harder to do sweeps and I have to rewrite music that requires 24 frets so I can play them.

It's funny as I know alot of people with $2000 guitars that can't plau or keep timing for their life. Then they bash me for shredding on a Strat. It's not the guitar it's the player. As long as you have a reliable guitar no matter what the price you are good to go and this Strat delivers.
