Comments about Fender Standard Stratocaster HSS Electric Guitar:

This guitar is great! Fender through and through, minus the pickups. I got a special edition MIM Strat, and I must say, I love it. Although I prefer the American made strats, the Mexican ones are stil phenomenal. It really is kind of hard to get a bad strat(unless it's a Squire). I am definitely going to change the pickups though, because the neck pickup gives off quite a bit of static when you turn the tone up, the middle pickup is really quiet, and I mean REALLY quiet, and the humbucker is harsh on the ears. Also, you do have to intonate the strings a little bit. If you like the classic strat sound, get the standard SSS, not the humbucker. I learned my lesson on that one. I'm going to change out the pickups with '69 vintage custom pickups. In conclusion, this is an amazing guitar with great action and a smooth feel without any buzzing frets.

For the money this guitar is great! I got the lake placid blue color. It looks great and sounds even better. I play mostly alternative rock, this guitar will be perfect for that genre. I'm very happy with my order, and musicians friend! This Fender rocks.

Comments about Fender Standard Stratocaster HSS Electric Guitar:

About a week ago my wife's grandma sold her house and split the money up with her kids and grandkids. With my portion of the funds, I wanted a new guitar. My previous guitar was a Squier Tele Custom. I was looking to get the Squier 50's Vibe Strat. Ive often payed them and it had everything I wanted in a guitar and at a great price. When I got to the store my wife suggested I get a real Fender instead of a Squier (I wasn't gonna argue that) and so I saw this guitar. It wasn't too much more than the 50's Vibe.

The quality is outstanding. I got the brown sunburst with the maple neck. I was looking for a SSS strat, but I like a little distortion and I thought the humbucker wouldn't hurt. I was already used to the neck because it is pretty similar to my Tele, however this neck has an awesome finish and the back is so soft and smooth. No fret buzz or problems anywhere on the neck.

When I got to an amp at home, I used a small GDec amp that came with my brothers Squier Strat combo thing. I was surprised at the amp itself. The sound of the guitar was just like I wanted. It has those classic Strat tones I was looking for but can also handle some distortion. I used to own a strat and the pickups buzzed alot, with this guitar they don't buzz at all even with high gain. The tremolo is nice, and stays in tune pretty well except for the D string, so I just widened the nut slot for the D and its perfect.

Overall, I would recommend this guitar to anyone, even if you are new or experienced. its a very affordable Fender with the same Quality as American Strats I've played.

Comments about Fender Standard Stratocaster HSS Electric Guitar:

This guitar is great, i still cant believe its a Fender, the guitar feels great, plays great and has a great tone to boot. My only griped with this guitar are its weak pick ups and annoying 60s cycle hum, other than that the guitar sounds great and everybody in my class think its an american when they hear and then i have to tell then its an MIM.

This is like the greatest deal for a name brand guitar that is reliable and sounds good. Because its got the humbucker it has a rich sound that is very good for punk, metal, alternative, blues and many other genres.

          Awesome first guitar.

Comments about Fender Standard Stratocaster HSS Electric Guitar:

I purchased this instrument because I started to get better on the acoustic and I want to play some blues and surf licks. Nothing better then a strat for that purpose. I don't usually put such a high rating to a non-us made piece of gear, but I must admit that the Mexican factory is manufacturing some serious stuff.
I just picked this mexican HSS brown sunburst with Mapple neck Strat.

Feature wise, it's hard to beat a Strat.

I use it with an old Peavey Classic 50/212 amp and it sounds great.

It was a hard choice betwee the hss and the single coil bridge pickup. I love both equaly.

The humbucker pickup has a more up front sound and would probably be better for solos than the single coil bridge pickup which has a prettier rythm sound. When mixed with with the midle pickup it doesn't make much difference anymore.

The pickups are hot enough to get a bit of crunch from the clear channel. Sounds very nice with a Little Big Muff.
For the price, I'm impressed by mexican made Fender guitars. I am a bass player and favor US made instruments for basses, but it doesn't seem so make such a difference with guitars.

The neck and fret work is impecable, and the body resonates very well. It feels sturdy and is agreable to play. Bridge and nuts are the same as US made. Switches and knobs are not making any noise.

I can lower the action at the bridge a lot without buzz, but I will lower the action at the nut to get this playability. Nothing wrong with the nut, I just like it better when lower and I can do it myself, but the factory setting is REALLY good compared to an Epiphone Les Paul for sample.

The Fender strings which came with it sounded great, but I switched right away to DR pure blues 9-42 strings which last much longer and stay better in tune. They are a bit stiffer though, so I had to adjust the neck right away. I always loved the sound of Fender strings, but they tend to break early, and usually decideto break during a gig.
Great value. Good playability and sounding insturment. If you want a better sounding strat, install different pickups.
