Fender

A limited run of a beautiful ash Telecaster without the 60-cycle buzz.

The Fender Standard Telecaster FSR Ash Electric Guitar combines the best of the old and new. Fender equips the Tele with vintage noiseless single-coil pickups, shielded body cavities, medium jumbo frets, cast/sealed machine heads, and a 6-saddle strings-through-body bridge.

Since its introduction in the early '50s, professionals in all musical genres have relied on the Fender Telecaster for its powerful tone and smooth playability.

The vintage noiseless Telecaster pickups offer sound like a '60s Tele's without the 60-cycle buzz. They're made with the same Fender technology as the noiseless Strat pickups, but are voiced for traditional Telecaster tone. Special Alnico 5 magnets and enamel coated magnet wire along with Fender's Noiseless technology produce a uniquely quiet vintage sound.

The Fender Tele guitar's neck pickup has a nickel-silver cover for added clarity, while the bridge pickup produces the traditional twang you'd expect from a Fender Standard Telecaster. Each guitar pickup sports a very stylish Fender Noiseless logo.

New features on this classically cool Telecaster guitar include a tinted neck and a '70s-style logo. Fender includes a standard gig bag with the FSR Ash Telecaster.

Features:

As far as classic, tonal spectrum is concerned, this Tele is the juice. The Noiseless vintage pick-ups sound clear and classic and the bridge pick-up gives you more of that ubiquitous Tele quack than you need. Everything about this model is primo, right down to the historic butterscotch colouring. Mine was horribly unset-up when it came out of the box, the intonation was wwas way off and the action too high but after a few quick adjustments and stretching in the strings, it was perfect. Plugged it into the Pro-Junior and let rip. Get one !!!

Quality:

I own an 09 Deluxe American Tele and have had half a dozen Ash and non Ash American Teles and I play this one as often as the Deluxe. Get one !!!

Value:

These are a SNAP. For a fraction the cost you get a sound, look and playability that's up there with the US Deluxe. Get one !!!

Overall:

I like that the output jack is rebated in to the lower bout and not a flat plate, like cheap teles, I like that it's string thru body which engages the brass and steel better than string thru bridge-plate, for richer authentic Tele tone, I like that colour is spectacular, I like that the bridges are the better solid block type, I like the noiseless pick-ups big time, I love the ash timber because it gives a more aggressive and brighter sound, I like the solid die-cast tuning machines because they work. If you're into enjoying the whole range of subtleties and nuances of Fender Telecaster sounds play it through a Pro-Junior or similar tube amp with 12AX7 pre's and EL34 or 84 outs. this Tele is the goods. Get one !!!

Telecaster FSR Ash with Vintage Noiseless Pickups Electric Guitar

Features:

The noiseless pickups work as stated.  No hum.

The set up was great right out of the box. Just one slight adjustment was all that was necessary.

The neck and fret work is flawless.

This guitar is a great value. Plays and looks as good as a American Standard Tell. I tried out at the local store. A lot less $.

Only glitch was the gig bag didn't come with guitar as advertised

One quick call to customer service and the bag showed 5 days latter.

I'm very happy and satisfied with this guitar.

FSR Ashwith Vintage Noiseless Pickups

| Review By: Arteom Hac | 1 month, 3 weeks ago

Features:

A classic guitar. What you see is what you get. I would have been nice to have more space between the pickup selector and the volume knob. I cant even fit my pinky. I has only one string guide so the 3rd and 4th strings are high up even with a good bit of winding, so they resonate very loud behind the nut. Come one Fender staggered tuners, they cant be that expensive as you will be using less metal.

Quality:

The body is nice. You can see the wood grain through the plastic finish. The neck pocket is not very tight. I am not very happy with the neck as its very thin for a tele. The nut width is 42 mm but the actual feel of the neck is still thin. The frets are sticking out of the top and bottom of the neck. I cant file them as ill strip the finish. My noiseless pickups are noisy until you touch a metal part of the guitar, then they "become noiseless". So the guitar has grounding issues, I have to bring it to an electrician.

Value:

The tele I got has factory faults. I got it over the internet so the joke is on me.

Overall:

The guitar sound nice. Its not twangy by any means. More like the Madcat guitar Prince plays. Its got a good weight, 7.4lbs. I would recommend the guitar but only if you play it first and have the option of picking the best one out of the bunch. With the particular one I got I am not happy as its got factory faults and should have cost somebody at MF/Mexico the Job.

Standard tele.Better than a 52 RI

Quality:

I can't find a flaw, and after 48 years of playing,I know what to look for.

Value:

They could have a better gig bag,The one they send is JUNK..This guitar deserves better.

Overall:

I must have been lucky.I cannot find one thing bad about this guitar,The frets are perfect, and the tone is great.I cannot find a joint on the body so it must be one piece.I have played guitar for 48 years and have owned many guitars,3 were Telecasters, and I never could get that great tone like a early 50's Tele,This one is the best,It is a keeper. Get a good case because the gig bag is cheap, barely any protection..Really guys you are selling a good guitar here.Whats with the cheap gig bag?

Well Worth It!

Features:

It has all the features you would expect from a Telecaster.

Quality:

It's what you would expect from a Mexican made Fender guitar.  It's not as solid as the higher end guitars, but is still a nice looking guitar that is well put together.  Setup was good, immediately switched to 10's from the 9's though.  No rough frets as many Fenders are notorious for.

Value:

For the money this is a great value.

Overall:

I was on the fence about this one, but I am very happy with this purchase.  I've wanted a Tele for years, I'm partial to humbucking pickups, so the noiseless on this one helped my decision.  I was VERY pleasantly surprised when I plugged it in.  It's everything you'd want out of a Telecaster and more with it's versatility.  It's a great guitar if you're looking for a really nice lush clean tone, but also has plenty of bite, this guitar could really cover all sytles.  If you're on the fence like I was, I highly doubt you'll be disappointed when you play yours.
