i got this guitar for myself last year as a christmas gift, i know im late with the review but i figured i needed to play it a while to see how it performed as far as sound and quality. nothing about this guitar is bad, i love it. understand you can get a lemon out of anything but this one i have is solid, sounds good and feels just as good. and the quality of the finish is beautiful

Comments about Fender Standard Telecaster Swirl with Maple Fingerboard Electric Guitar:

Purchased this guitar because i was in need of an inexpensive tele for country playing, could not locate one locally so i took a chance (i rarely buy sight unseen) and ordered this one. i received a nice looking guitar with a good swirl pattern on it and not the stripe look many of them have. the guitar plays well and has a good neck, controls work properly, body has no defects, - ther were a couple of issues with this one...first the nut was not cut properly and the D&G string were not seated correctly causing some tuning issues,my tech corrected this problem by opening it up just a hair...second, the neck joint was very rough along the edges, looked like a masking tape edge where the body was dipped, the neck is seated correctly but the cosmetic look of the joint was of poor quality - this was corrected by touching up the area with white gel coat - there were no issues with the bridge, machines, controls, while setting up the guitar - the frets were well dressed and smooth and the neck was of good quality, the pickup selector switch is very close to the volume control when in the bridge position - the bridge pickup has the classic tele twang and the neck pickup seems a little tame, a new set of upgraded pickups are probably in order - when using both pickups this guitar has definite blues tone which i didnt really expect but have grown to like - overall this guitar looks and plays fine for an inexpensive axe but i have seen much better build quality on MIM tele's - the alder wood makes this guitar heavy compared to basswood tele's but not a deal breaker - if not for the nut and neck joint i would have rated it better than average

Comments about Fender Standard Telecaster Swirl with Maple Fingerboard Electric Guitar:

I was amazed at how nice the craftsmanship on this guitar. Fender has improved in the last 15 years, no faults I could find. Beautiful top finish and excellent standard telecaster sound. May upgrade to dimarzio pups if playing professionally, but that's just my taste.

Comments about Fender Standard Telecaster Swirl with Maple Fingerboard Electric Guitar:

Haven't purchased any fender guitars in 15 years, so just for giggles purchased this one and fender strat with quilted top for same denaro. anyways, I was shocked at craftsmanship. fender made in mexico has improved substantially to near perfection. Put dimarzion pups in it, and I could play this live for concerts. The finish is awesome, and the sound is great.
