great guitar for begginers, great guitar for guys who want a guitar to mod and make better.
It's okay by it'sself, but i fixed it up to make it AWESOME. i AM NOT a begginer. i've got an american strat and tele which i use most often. i bought this just to mess up. been a player for 7 years. this review is only on the guitar, as i did not purchase the amp, tuner, gig bag, and whatever else this thing usually includes.
eh. quality is okay. mine has a maple fretboard, which im in love with. it's a very chuncky, smooth neck. only one dead fret, and it's not too bad. adjustable trussrod. great bonus. not sure what kind of wood the body is, but i really wish i knew. whatever it is it's got a super thick coat of something under the paint on top of the wood. mine has a floating tremolo (goes up and down) not sure if this is standard on these gutiars, but i love the fact that it has it. kind of hard to keep in tune. pickups sound like crap (ultra muddy) with the exception of the bridge pickup, which is actually kind of nice. my friend sold me this guitar (black) for a low price, so how could i resist? i dragged it all over the street, set it on fire, and sanded all of the paint off then let my friends paint whatever on it, but it's still in perfectly playable condition. in fact, i use it at some of my bands shows. pretty good guitar for what it's worth. i did replace the tuning machines, the nut and im replacing the bridge at the moment. i also replaced the neck pickup and middle pickup and i am debating weather or not i should replace the bridge pickup.
great guitar if you want to mess it up like i did. i reccommend this guitar to begginers everywhere. you WILL hopefully move on from this piece of junk, but it's a great tool to learn on. i'd take it over an epiphone any day of my life. i did get an unbeatable deal on the guitar, but i bought the guitar only. no gig bag, no amp, no tuner. i've already got those things.

I bought this because I was tired of borrowing the church's stratocaster. I got it at a pawn shop new. It was great and I don't regret buying it. It is great for those who have just begun on an acoustic and are ready to move on but have trouble playing a top- quality electric guitar, be because they aren't used to the low action or it's awkward for them... The action is alright. The sound quality is not amazing, but for it's price, you can't complain. I currently play a telecaster and I can play fast and improvise and I owe it all to the starcaster,

If you ever see this product in any store, make sure you buy it so that you can destroy it so nobody has to suffer with it like I did.
Everything about this guitar and package is absolutely awful.
Awful Quality.
The same value as dirt.
