Kick out the jams with this star-crossed Strat.

Fender introduces a replica of the starred-and-striped Stratocaster guitar that infamous MC5 guitarist and Detroit proto-punk Wayne Kramer used back in the late 1960s
and early 1970s. It bears his distinctive U.S. flag finish, with a red-and-white striped body and white-stars-on-blue-background pickguard
    and headstock.

Special features include a roaring Seymour Duncan '59 humbucking middle pickup and a commemorative neck plate engraved with "This Tool Kills Hate." Other features include an alder body, lacquer body finish, C-shaped maple neck, and large '70s-style headstock, 21-fret rosewood fingerboard with 7.25" radius and vintage-style frets, vintage-style single-coil Stratocaster neck and bridge pickups, American Vintage hard-tail string-through-body bridge, Fender/Schaller vintage-style "F" tuners and chrome hardware. Includes a gig bag.

    Mt New Favorite Strat!

    By William Pepper

    from In the woodshed...

Comments about Fender Wayne Kramer Signature Flag Stratocaster Electric Guitar:

Can't say enough good things about it. Lightweight and easy on the shoulder.Smooth frets. Radius feels mush flatter than the 7.25" radius specified. For me, it almost plays itself. The "plays like butter" epithet definitely applies...
Love the pups, especially solid-sounding humbucker. Tuners stay in tune and the bridge is solid.
Well made, well appointed. Best road-worn job to date and I've owned most of them.
Adjusted for today's prices, you get what the going market rate is for this kind of quality. Mexican guitars are getting really good. This would cost an extra $700 if USA. Would love to support our economy but can't afford the Made in USA pieces. These days, the quality difference just isn't there. Way better than the Chinese and Indonesian alternatives. (Funny how the Japanese stuff got really good and then the imports stopped.)

    This guitar makes a statement....

    By David Hyder

Comments about Fender Wayne Kramer Signature Flag Stratocaster Electric Guitar:

I am happy with my purchase.
I do like the reliced stars and stripes paint job! It proclaims 1960's anarchy in a big way. Regardless of one's politics, this is a cool guitar. For me, it is a three sound guitar. I rarely use the single coils by themselves. Positions 2, 3, and 4 chug the rythmn very well and when the volume pot is rolled up, this thing really sings. I am going to make some changes, however; 500k pots instead of 250K, dedicate a tone knob for the bridge single coil, a r/c network on the volume pot and the body cavities need shielded.
    Well built, solid and comfy.
Got a really good deal. Musician's Friend discounted this about a year after it was released. I jumped on it.

Not for everyone, but for those who get it, there's nothing cooler

    By Adam Curtis

Comments about Fender Wayne Kramer Signature Flag Stratocaster Electric Guitar:

VERY resonant and the MOST sustain I've ever heard from a Strat, amazing tones, and the pefect Strat neck in my opinion. If you can pull off the look (I can, haha), there's nothing better.
Alder body with relic'ed nitro finish, 7.25" radius neck with vintage frets and CBS headstock, S/H/S configuration with Duncan '59 in the center, and maybe best of all, hardtail. Typical Strat with a twist. Nice touch is the 'This Tool Kills Hate' engraved neckplate.
Just like my Jim Root Tele, rock solid, impeccable build.
I wouldn't argue with it being cheaper.

Righteous Axe from the MC5 Main Man...

Comments about Fender Wayne Kramer Signature Flag Stratocaster Electric Guitar:

This guitar looks really good in person... they really did an excellent job on the relicing... not overdone like the roadworns but very tasteful and believable, looks pretty much like a late 60's/early 70's guitar that has been on the road, not one that has been attacked by a belt-sander and an icepick. Played pretty good for a Mexican Fender and the bridge & neck pickups were nice and stratty, but I couldn't get into the sound of the middle humbucker... it was too bassy compared to the single coils IMHO. Bottom line: The looks made me want to take it home, but the sound made me put it back up on the hanger.
