Fernandes Sustainer
The patented Fernandes Sustainer system generates a magnetic field causing the strings to vibrate endlessly, giving you creative ways to control sustain and feedback. Used by Steve Vai, The Edge, Slash, Kerry King, Neil Schon, Robert Fripp, and Paul Gilbert, the Sustainer allows you to produce silky smooth Hendrix-like textures and tonal colorings at any volume level without extra outboard gear. The Sustainer lets you add swells or a gradual decay to single notes or chords while performing outrageous hammer-on slides, whammy-bar dive bombing, or two-hand tapping.

Overall, this guitar rocks. It plays, looks, feels and sounds great. Highly recommended for intermediates +
Tone knob, volume knob, good tuners, and then the sustainer system! I believe the bridge pickup is Alnico, it has the signature sounds found in Alnico pickups.
Very good quality, weighs as much as my Mahogany ESPs and LTDs and plays just about as well. Even though the tuners aren't actually a brandname like I think it says on here (Fernandes doesn't claim it to be a brandname set either)
Stock, the action was pretty good, and it played well. Could use some slight adjustments, but overall, it is just great.
Dunno what the other guy was experiencing with his sustainer, but mine has a thick scream to it. I can also play power chords and use the infinite sustain mode and slight around the power chord.
Very well priced for a very well made guitar. Sounds, plays, and screams awesome!

I was pretty excited at the idea of the "sustainer" system. I've used an Ebow before, the downside to ebow is that you can only use it on one string at a time and you have to lug it around. I jumped at the chance to get a guitar that had this built in.. Well.. While its a good concept. This guitar didn't execute it well. The sustainer (even with a brand new battery) was very weak when activated. You could hardly hear the note ring. There was string buzz on the bottom 3 strings as well, this can be fixed by the bridge adjustment, but that moves the strings further away from the sustainer pickup. Thus can further amplify the sustainer being weak problem. So how does it do on chords? Well it doesn't really... Your chord rings, then a single note rings just like playing a single note. The guitar, while it looked nice felt cheap. No weight to it at all. I was very disappointed with this one and ended up returning it. I can't speak for other Fernandes products, but if they are anything like this one, I really can't recommend you get them. I would suggest trying it before you buy it.
