    Convenient Practice and Travel Axe

    By Richard Meyer

    from Atlanta area

Comments about Fernandes Nomad Standard Electric Guitar:

Feature wise it's a 10 because it plays great, has the built-in amp & speaker, and is so portable which makes it easy to travel with. It also has and output for a regular 1/4" guitar chord and a headphone mini-jack, either of which will cut off the built-in speaker. Very cool. The small crescent like body is easy to play in many relaxing positions as you practice, even sitting back in your office chair! I bought a black one and the body's finish is top notch while the back of the neck which is a natural finish feels great too.
It's made very well, looks it and feels it . . .the neck feels awesome and has a first rate fret job, but I can only give it an 8 because of the tuning keys. It comes strung with regular light strings on it which the tuners worked just OK for . . . but I use extra lights and after changing strings the stock tuners could not keep them firmly gripped and were constantly slipping. I had to buy a set of Sperzel tuners and install them in place of the stock tuners (which I do on many of my guitars anyway). Once I did that my black Nomad is back to "awesome" and I love it. . . and it stays in tune no matter how much bending I do.
As an all-in-one prctice and travel axe the price is totally OK . . . especially if you compare to other electric travel guitars but again, I had to spend an extra $60 on the Sperzel tuners . . . but I don't regret it a bit. The Nomad is a cool little axe and by the way it's single humbucker wails when you plug it in to a big amp, so you can travel with it and sit-in on gigs with confidence!

    Not bad!

    By MickMacGuy

    from The REAL Jersey Shore

Comments about Fernandes Nomad Standard Electric Guitar:

Don't know if I'd pay this much for this new, and send more of our $ overseas - but if you can find one for half that price used it's a good deal.
I actually have the goofy Star Wars version that I picked up used. The guitar plays surprisingly well with new strings and a proper setup. You can even coax the built-in amp into a little sustained feedback on a few notes. My only real gripe is the position of the tuners is such that it make it hard to see the highest tuners, so you will ineveitably turn the wrong one by mistake.
The tuners are pretty low-rent, but the rest of the guitar is well-made. The case is complete crap though. I know you can't expect much from a gig bag, but iot had almost zero padding, and the zipper broke on mine alnost immeduiately. Good luck trying to find another case that fits!
I'd have to agree with the previous reviewer, it's a little overpriced for a Chinese guitar. It would be nice to have a built-in tuner, since the electronics and battery are there anyway...

Good travel and single player guitar

    By HLEStringman

    from Tyler, TX

Comments about Fernandes Nomad Standard Electric Guitar:

It is probably over priced by 50-75$ but still a good deal. The workmanship is pretty darn good. Basic features- you have to play this one. Sounds good through a regular amp as well. The graphic versions are more attractive and you feel less like you are playing a toy. I would recommend it to anyone who wants a lighter and portable instrument. I got mine through MF and have been very pleased.
A good small guitar. Not heavy and easy to hold. Sounds reasonable and the 24" scale makes playing it a breeze. The neck is quite good for a relatively low priced guitar. Worth the money but a small headphone amp is recommended for good quality sound.

    Nice Little Guitar

    By Thesearedays

    from Southern California

Comments about Fernandes Nomad Standard Electric Guitar:

I purchased this for my daughter. She is in her first year of college, and didn't want to bring one of her more "expensive" guitars to her dorm room. She loves playing the electric...so this seemed like the percfect fit - a guitar with an amp built into it. The amp/speaker sounds as it might be expected - a little tinny, however, the neck plays nicely, good action. The distortion option is cool for a little "harder" sound. All in all a cool little guitar. My daughter loved it. (I got her the black w/ flames)
