OVERVIEW

The Les Paul that rocked the world with the added bonus of always being in tune.

The 2013 Les Paul ’60s Tribute captures the look, feel, and tone of a classic evolution of this legendary single-cutaway solidbody, the Les Paul of 1960. Like the final guitars in the original run of Les Paul Standards, the Les Paul ’60s Tribute carries a pair of PAF-style humbucking pickups, the most revered pickup ever created, along with the fast, comfortable slim neck profile characteristic of the start of that decade. Gibson’s most-acclaimed hardware set ensures smooth playability and offers precise tuning and intonation. And this Les Paul ’60s Tribute comes upgraded with Min-ETune automated “robot” tuners.

In the image of the greatest Les Paul Standards ever made, the Les Paul ’60s Tribute starts with the classic tonewood combination of a mahogany body with solid carved maple top. When paired together, these woods offer a tonal depth and complexity unmatched by any single-wood construction, with warmth and richness from the mahogany, and superb clarity and “snap” from the maple, all of which translates beautifully to the guitar’s amplified sound.

The mahogany back is strategically weight relieved to both lighten your load and improve resonance. A solid mahogany neck is glued into the body in Gibson’s time-tested tradition, and carved to a fast, slim 60s profile that measures .800” at the 1st fret and .875” at the 12th. It is topped with a genuine rosewood fingerboard that carries 22 medium-jumbo frets and traditional trapezoid inlays.

In keeping with the stripped-down ethos of this powerful performer, both body and ’board remain unbound, and there’s no pickguard to obscure the finish. A PLEK-cut nut made from black Corian subtly complements the black speed knobs and black pickup rings, while enhancing resonance and sustain. The traditional back-angled headstock is silkscreened with a gold Gibson logo and Les Paul Model.

The Les Paul ’60s Tribute takes its firepower from a pair of BurstBucker humbucking pickups; a BurstBucker 1 at the neck and a slightly hotter BurstBucker 2 at the bridge. The BurstBuckers humbuckers are some the most accurate recreations of vintage PAF humbuckers available today. These great pickups adhere strictly to Seth Lover’s original formula, which includes a genuine Alnico II bar magnet in each pickup and slightly mismatched coils wound with 42-AWG enamel-coated wire for the characteristic edge and bite that has made original PAFs legendary.

The traditional wiring complement of an independent volume and tone control per pickup plus a three-way toggle selector switch allows a broad range of sonic variations. To anchor it all down, Gibson USA loads in a tune-o-matic bridge and stopbar tailpiece, with a set of genuine Grover kidney button tuners, a hardware set that partners up for solid sustain and precision tuning. Put it all together, and the Les Paul ’60s Tribute presents the perfect celebration of Les Paul’s genius and achievement, wrapping it all into a great guitar that brings the look, feel, and sound of the original humbucker-loaded Les Pauls to the hands of players of today.

Each guitar includes a black Gibson gig bag, owner’s manual and truss rod wrench.

Min-ETune automated “robot” tuners
Min-ETune is a small compact battery powered tuning unit that sits on the back of the guitar — a mighty enhancement to an already great instrument. No need for screws, wiring or routing, in fact the system is hardly visible from the front of the guitar. You can still adjust the tuning pegs manually or turn on the Min-ETune to choose from 12 popular tunings or program 6 of your own.

Always In Tune
A guitar with Min-ETune looks the same, feels the same, plays the same and rocks the same - it’s just always in tune. Adjust to other instruments' imperfect tuning with Reference Tuning and keep that harmony going. Perfect for home, studio and gigging: The internal lithium battery lasts for 80 to 100 tunings on just one charge. Rock longer with the fast and accurate Min-ETune, tuning your guitar in just three seconds and one strum.

In Perfect Harmony
Digital tuners that emulate open tunings are available BUT because the Min-ETune physically turns the tuners, the system is always organic and natural. There’s no delay, no dampening and no dead sound — just the natural vibration of guitar strings in total harmony with the vibrations coming out of the amp producing ringing harmonics and powerful sustain.

Rock Out
With the new Min-ETune equipped guitars all you have to do is PUSH the button, STRUM, get TUNED and ROCK out. Min-ETune is a huge boost to the live performer, the touring professional, the experienced enthusiast, the beginner and novice player alike.

Save time and money in the studio because the tuning system is so fast and accurate. And Min-ETune is a priceless tool for writing creatively with its instant access to the sounds your muse demands. Perfect for the professional – Min-ETune will have you rocking around the clock.

Travel light to your next gig or across the globe, just one guitar does the work of multiple guitars in different tunings – perfect for the enthusiast. Keep on rocking and experiment with a wide range of alternate tunings or program your own and save it forever with Min-ETune.

Spend less time learning to tune and more time learning to play the guitar. Perfect for the beginner – Min-ETune puts a variety of tunings at your fingertips. You are ready to rock? With Min-ETune you can even experiment with open tunings, something that usually takes years of practice.

More than just efficient, affordable, versatile, and powerful, Min-ETune is truly a creative tool that you can’t do without.

I bought this guitar for my son as his first electric, I am very happy with this choice. The neck and frets feel good and the whole guitar is well made. The pickups sound better than I expected and the E-tune is a marval for anyone who is learning or just hates to tune up. Over all aver nice Les Paul for the money.

Comments about Gibson 2013 Les Paul '60s Tribute Min-ETune Electric Guitar:

MinETune awesome and fast. Don't worry about the nay Sayers the minETune is awesome and super fast. It really works!! Every time for 12 pre set and I programed in another 6 for a total of 18 turnings. It is faster than the pros can tune it that I know. Zip zip done. And more accurate too. This guitar has good power and seriously beautiful tone and great harmonics with the Burst buckers 1 and 2. Beutiful sustaining bell like tone. This thing is my new best friend.

Comments about Gibson 2013 Les Paul '60s Tribute Min-ETune Electric Guitar:

Great tone and construction. The techs at the guitar shop were saying the head stock would be too heavy with the minETune but it is not at all. It is well built and lighter than my custom fender start. It is an outstanding buy if you don't require all the binding. Not having binding does not effect tone at all. Also no pick gaurd. I have never liked pick guards since they hide the beauty of a guitar. If you want to be a snob and pay more for a studio or some thing go ahead but this guitar is the best I have and I have some nice ones. Easy playability and the minETune is precise, fast and accurate. I know a pro can't alternate tune as fast as this thing. It takes at the most 12 seconds for even the most difficult alternate turnings. And noise in the room doesn't not effect speed or accuracy.

Comments about Gibson 2013 Les Paul '60s Tribute Min-ETune Electric Guitar:

Feels and sounds great. And it's a Gibson Les Paul for under a grand. It arrived with little string tension and I did have to flatten out the neck. I've used it on a few gigs now and am very happy with the performance. The only thing I found to be inconvenient is with the mini tune. Not really a problem because it really does work. But in a live situation once you activate it, you must allow it to finish. When you only have a few seconds between songs and your g & b strings need a tweak, it's better to adjust the tuning the old fashioned way.

Comments about Gibson 2013 Les Paul '60s Tribute Min-ETune Electric Guitar:

I have been looking at the Gibson min etune guitars for a year or so. Reading about them, watching videos, etc.. I never played one though. I like to play in alternate tunings, but I hate to have to re-tune for one song. I was considering the Variax, the Fender G5 Strat, of the Gibson with min etune. Too many mixed opinions on the Variax. I bought a Fender G5 and didn't like it, so I sent it back. The min etune was last on my list because I thought it would be a disappointment. Man was I was wrong!

Well, I love this guitar. And I am a Fender player, tried and true, to the bone. Strat is my guitar of choice. But this guitar is amazing. I could not be happier with this purchase.

Min etune is great. It works perfect! And it is FUN!! Of course, I know how to tune a guitar. I have 7 different tuners. Tuning is not hard. But, why not have a self tuning guitar?? We all have more guitars than we need to have, so why not have one like this?

To the purist that think this is a horrible idea, you are wrong. It's accurate and it is a lot of fun! We don't need remotes for our TV, email or cell phones either. But we all have them. I wouldn't want my only guitar to be a min etune. But if you have more than one, this is nice to have. The 60's Tribute is a crazy good value. It's very affordable and worth every penny!

It's a bare bones package. No binding, no pickguard, no hardshell case, but I like it that way. I don't have to worry about it. It comes with a nice padded gigbag, but you should buy a hard shell case. I bought a hard shell case for it immediately. The MF les paul hardcase is perfect for this guitar is very affordable and nice.

If you're thinking of getting one of these, stop thinking about it and buy one. Don't let anyone sway your thoughts about it. It's nice and you'll like it.

Last thing. Read the instructions and follow them to the letter and you'll figure it out fairly quick. I didn't read the instructions first and was doing it wrong. I thought I could figure it out but I was missing one of the steps. I almost put it back in the box to send back (so glad I decided to read the instructions)

Have fun with your new Les Paul!

PS I'm still a Fender guy and always will be.
