I bought mine in 2003 and had to send it back because the binding was separated from the fretboard and the first string would catch on the frets (cherry sunburst). A couple months later I found a white one (after playing several) that sounded particularly good. I started playing in 1964 and have made my living playng.I currently own 151 guitars and 40+ amps so I have plenty to compare this guitar to. My 1969 strat is the best guitar I own but I prefer Les Pauls to Fenders. I have 6 Gibson Les Pauls. For looks this one is beautiful and I play it more than any other Gibson I own although I do have a 1960 Standard that sounds better this one is much lighter and if you have to stand up with a guitar for 2 hours ten pounds gets heavy. It has a heavy resonant sound and miles of sustain. I Generally play it through a modified Blues Deville and a 1968 Bandmaster both with recent cap jobs and new tubes as well as K 120 JBL 12" bell magnet speakers or if using a stack a Gibson Super Goldtone. If you can't afford a custom shop Les Paul or a vintage this is an excellent choice. Not so much money you cry over every scratch but tone and sustain only a real Les Paul can give you. If your a shredder, use tons of effects and dig digital amps don't waste your money, you can do that with a $400 guitar. But if you have paid your dues and have the ability this is a great Les Paul on stage and in the studio.

After waiting for 8 months from the order date, I received this guitar in Desert Burst and repackaged it within 2 minutes of opening it. Never bothered to plug it in. Although I'm sure it would have sounded nice, the finish was deplorable! Come on, Gibson, for 3 grand, can't you take the time to inspect the finish for obvious flaws like laquer runs, head stock dents and color transfer rubs from the drying rack, swirl marks in the finish, and grime on all gold surfaces!!?? What gives? Was some one in a hurry to get it off the production floor, or did I receive a reject? For this much money I prefer to be the one to add the character marks, not the factory. What a major let down. Never again.

    It's pretty good

Comments about Gibson 2013 Les Paul Supreme Figured Electric Guitar:

Found this guitar at GC and tried it out. The neck was awkward to me - it feels like a D-shaped neck (50's style I guess). Having owned and played an LP Custom I guess I was expecting too much out of the Supreme. The guitar looks huge, but it is very light for it's size. The sound was ok - I didn't get to try it out on a good distortion amp as I was helping a friend check out a Fender non-distortion amp. The flame maple back was a waste I thought, as no one really cares what the back of a guitar looks like. It will eventually get a few sratches in that location anyway. If you have the money, I'd pass and go for an LP Custom. If you are on a lower budget, I'd try out some of the new LP Standards.

    Gibson Pure

Comments about Gibson 2013 Les Paul Supreme Figured Electric Guitar:

I debated a while before buying my Heritage Cherry Supreme. I have other quality electric guitars, but the Les Paul Supreme is in a league of it's own. The finish, detail, and workmanship on the guitar I received is superb and I'm somewhat of a pickey person, being a retired building inspector. It is a comfort to play. I would recommend this guitar to any serious guitar player. You will not be wasting your money if you purchase this guitar, well worth it.

The Ultimate in Les Paul Design

    By WavesRocker 7

Comments about Gibson 2013 Les Paul Supreme Figured Electric Guitar:

Absolutely amazing guitar. I've run it through all kinds of amps, from vintage Fender tube amps to Marshall Stacks to various vox models - and the sound is just unbelievable. The sheer beauty of this guitar is incredible, non-guitarists even admire the wood grain, the paint, and the gold trimming! All in all, a worthy investment

    Best Guitar Ive ever owned

Comments about Gibson 2013 Les Paul Supreme Figured Electric Guitar:

I picked up this guitar and was amazed at how light weight it was. You can tell the tone is amazing without even plugging it in. Once I did, I was amazed. This guitars handle is great. Not only is the body amazing but the neck shape is great for me, the body fits me well. And the pickups were also great. Best guitar I have ever owned.

    A True Work of Art

    By String Jammer

    from Barre, VT

Comments about Gibson 2013 Les Paul Supreme Figured Electric Guitar:

Gibson really went all out on this model. The Root Beer finish brings out the flame nicely and gives a rich appearance. I treat it like a fine piece of furniture, displaying it on the wall and polishing it often. It has a much rounder and growly tone than my LP Std. and seems to weigh about the same even with the added maple back plate that the Supreme has. My only complaint is that the fingerboard seems to be too narrow causing the high E string to slip off the edge easily when playing in the higher registers. I also had problems keeping it in tune right off the bat, but some graphite on the nut cured that problem.

    Best Les Paul Ever

Comments about Gibson 2013 Les Paul Supreme Figured Electric Guitar:

Ive saved up for a long time to be able to buy this girl. She has the chambers of a 335 but the crunch of a les paul. The weight is so much better compared to the other les pauls, and the neck is awesome.

    Guitar Of My Dreams

    By SkyDog-nGJ-I

Comments about Gibson 2013 Les Paul Supreme Figured Electric Guitar:

I NEVER give products all 5 ratings, but this is a great exception. Every aspect exceeded any guitar i have owned or played. The tone can make you howl or cry, the finish is art, its lighter than most Les Paul's and it plays like butter.
