OVERVIEW

Gibson's famous J-45 model with custom features.

The J-45 Custom is a celebration of the original. Integrating vintage appointments with modern features, the J-45 Custom delivers the renowned tone of classic J-45s, with the warmth and depth of rosewood. Refined finishes complement its fundamental design, including a floral abalone and mother-of-pearl headstock inlay created by Gibson's master luthiers.

Enhancements for this 2016 model include an engraved truss rod cover, L.R. Baggs Element VTC pickup for ultimate plug-and-play ease, a softer fingerboard edge that fits comfortably in the contour of your hand, and an enhanced high gloss finish thanks to finer grit sandpaper and polishing compounds.

The J-45 utilizes state-of-the-art German-engineered Plek technology to create the finest playing surface possible. New penetrating and finishing oil on the fingerboard and bridge last longer and maximizes the wood's natural vibrancy.

Includes hardshell case.

Comments about Gibson 2016 J-45 Custom Slope Shoulder Dreadnought Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I have had a Martin HD-28 and D12-28 for years and have always wanted a Gibson acoustic. I have many Gibson electrics that are great guitars. Recently a friend brought over a 1957 Gibson Southern Jumbo that is essentially a fancy J-45. I was very impressed with it and started looking for a J-45. I wanted rosewood as both my Martins are rosewood. My friend's SJ is mahogany and it has a very loud midrange punch to it. I prefer the smooth full bass and treble of rosewood and was not disappointed with the sound of the J-45 Custom. The fancy trimmings of the Custom is something I wouldn't have typically wanted, but they are a very nice touch.
