Sound I was looking for!

Comments about Gibson 2016 Limited Run Explorer Faded Electric Guitar:

Just received this Explorer today. Happily, it has the sound I've been looking for (heavier 60's and 70's)

The Dirty Fingers pickups drive my Marshall DSL-50 quite nicely (my LP Std always seemed a bit weak).

The string height and intonation was fairly good, except the high E string height was too low (buzzing).

The description of the controls is incorrect. There is one master volume and one master tone. Each pot has a push-pull switch to split the coils. (Sounds very Strat-like).

Only complaint is the ends of the frets are not smooth and even with the neck. Almost feels like rubbing a cheese-grater in some spots (reason for knocking off a star).

A hard shell case would have been nice, but the gig-bag is pretty heavy duty compared to others I've seen.

A hard shell case would have been nice with a $1K guitar, but the gig-bag is pretty heavy duty compared to others I've seen.
