Comments about Gibson 2017 Firebird Zero Electric Guitar:

Man, they sure cut a lot of corners to get it this cheap. and it came out CHEAP. I got 2, both the blue and the black one. i returned both.
starting with the frets - not well dressed at all, has a lot of sharp frets that cut my fingers and hand. on both guitars. Then there's the finish. On the blue one, i felt midway up the back some tiny bump. upon closer inspection it was a piece of stringy dirt that's UNDER the clear finish itself. its like they just lacquered it then sent it on its merry way. The black one was worse - the neck was ok, but on the top bout, there were these 2 gashes that i thought were due to mishandling, but again, it's UNDER the black finish. They didnt even check for it, just straight up sprayed over it and done nothing else.
Then there's the hardware. the bridge has a cheapo chrome bridge, though adjustable for intonation, still felt cheap. Same with the tuners, which holds themselves ok (all tuners dont hold in tune unless you have a locking mechanism), but looks cheaper than gotoh tuners.
The pickups were decent, runs more on the hot side, easily gets a good tone from my AC30 with the blue alnico speakers and a Marshall DSL40C with a creamback on it. Gets crunchy, and leads aren't a slouch either. For a hotter sounding pickup, its actually quite bright sounding.
It's very light, the poplar had a lot to do with it, and the fact that it's cut thin. almost like an SG, but with less meatiness. This is great for playing long gigs.
I guess if you put in some time to dress the frets right, replace the bridge, maybe even rip out the stock pickups for much better alternatives (whatever tone suits your tastes better), this firebird zero can be a great guitar. But that pushes it up to more costs, which defeats the purpose of getting it for the price alone.
I give it one star for the pickups which has some potential in my humble opinion.
But all its flaws makes me embarrassed to call it Made In The USA.

Comments about Gibson 2017 Firebird Zero Electric Guitar:

I was excited about a Gibson at this price point so I figured I would give it a shot. First, the wrong color was sent despite the box being marked for the correct color. The finish was poor and had many marks around the heel. The neck pickup did not work at first. Had to move the switch many times before it began to cut in and out, eventually stayed on. The balance of this guitar is odd. The body weighs nothing, then neck is a brick. Fret work was ok. The action was high. The tuners were ok. The bridge was a poor design. Yes it said Gibson on the head stock but felt like i was holding a first act guitar from toys r us. It sounds ok, but after 15 minutes of trying to get it to hold a tune, I placed it back in the box and sent in for a refund. If you want this guitar, get an Epiphone at this price. You wont have GIbson on your headstock, but your ear and comfort while playing will thank you.

Comments about Gibson 2017 Firebird Zero Electric Guitar:

Black (white pick guard) was in the box but the box was marked for the color I ordered which was blackberry (dark pick guard). Wax all over the pickup's with messy tape job. Scratches on finish like buckle rash. Bridge pickup was cutting in and out. Doesn't play like a Gibson. Sounds OK, not great but not horrible. Neck weighs twice the body so you have to hold it up in right hand. Gig bag was respectable so I gave it 1 star. I will review again once I get the blackberry I ordered. This looks to be a Gibson error on the box label. Not sure I'll be keeping this guitar

Comments about Gibson 2017 Firebird Zero Electric Guitar:

This is a simple guitar. It doesn't do very much but I mean that as a compliment. I was intrigued to get a Made in the USA, double hum bucker Gibson for such an inexpensive price. It's nice enough but the corners that had to be cut show and I don't how to put this exactly but the Poplar body just doesn't feel right. As seems to always be the case with my MF purchases the guitar was basically unplayable out of the box so it needed a set up. Don't get me wrong, I still like it for the price but I wouldn't get another one.

got my blackberry today. overall nice everything but a bit of a quality cut with the chinese hardware. American made neck, body, nut and strings and pickups but the rest is import. still a great value. sound wise it will be a cult classic. I put on a compensated wrap around bridge in place of the stock one.

        My husband loves this guitar

Comments about Gibson 2017 Firebird Zero Electric Guitar:

I bought this as a Christmas gift for my husband. Before he received it, he was listening to all the reviews on YouTube, and they were all bad. I got really worried that the guitar I had bought him was junk. When he received the guitar, he tuned it up and started playing. It has been 2 weeks and he won't put it down. He even made a YouTube video explaining how much he loves this guitar. So, if you are thinking of buying one, dont listen to all the YouTube videos out there, because you might miss out on something wonderful just because of some other peoples opinions.

Comments about Gibson 2017 Firebird Zero Electric Guitar:

I read a lot of bad reviews but found one so cheap I could not pass it up. I have the blackberry finish I see more grain in the wood than a bad finish. Neck is superb. Hardware is ok. The bridge on mine is almost completely lowered but the action is super low. It was actually set up nicely. If there is one thing I had to knit pick about this would be the pick ups. There are way hot almost too hot.
