OVERVIEW

Get the played-in feel and looks in a brand-new instrument.

The 2017 Les Paul Faded T has the comfortable look of an instrument that already has a few decades of playing on it, but like every Gibson guitar it feels like it has been shaped directly by the player's hand, for an absolutely perfect fit.

This guitar represents the perfect marriage of tradition and modernity. It has modern 490R and 490T humbuckers, 22 polished frets for amazing bends and a great feel, a slim-taper neck profile for fast and comfortable soloing, Ultra-Modern weight relief for comfort and enhanced resonance, and nickel hardware, adding to its yesteryear vibe.

It also features Gibson's new Faded Gloss finish process for a more authentic worn-in look. Delivered in a padded gig bag, accompanied by a strap and a polishing cloth.

Comments about Gibson 2017 Les Paul Faded T Electric Guitar:

Excellent customer service! Was back ordered, delivery occurred 2 days, before they were even scheduled to be in-stock. It looks great, and sounds decent (I'll change the pick-ups). The neck isn't perfectly straight, the frets aren't exactly level, causing buzzing on some string, and buzzing in different areas of the scale. The frets edges are nasty on both sides, all over the scale. I just expected an American made Gibson, to have better quality control than my cheap far eastern entry level Dean. At an eighth the price, my Dean has better fretwork.

Comments about Gibson 2017 Les Paul Faded T Electric Guitar:

I bought this one month ago. This is my first Gibson Les Paul and I have to say I fell in love with this guitar since I've played for the first time. It looks amazing, has some raw vibe on it, is a guitar that you want to play hard instead of just hang it on the wall. This axe sounds amazing compared with my 2 other Les Pauls (Epiphone Studio & Standard Plustop Pro), it has a lot more resonance, the pickups has more output and are more dynamic, the controls works perfect, actually I use the guitar through a Orange Micro Terror (cheap but great amp for playing at home) with cranked gain, and I'm able to generate a lot of tones and clean the sound just manipulating the volume & tone knobs. On the other hand, I have to say I hate the desicion of Gibson to put hybrid strings on his guitars, 9's strings at top doesn't work for me, and since the nut slots are too narrow on Gibsons, I had to do some work at the nut in order to fit 10's, other bad thing on this guitar is the fretwork on the edges, I have to say my 2 Epis feels a lot better on the edges but for me this is a minor thing, this doesn't affect my playing in any way. And my last complain is about the very thin finish, I have 1 month playing this guitar daily for 2 or 3 hours, and the finish is starting to wear where my right arm makes contact with the body, definitely this is a very bad thing talking about the quality of the finish, but for me is a great thing, since I love how a road worn guitar looks.

Comments about Gibson 2017 Les Paul Faded T Electric Guitar:

This guitar looks great from afar. And is comfortable on the hand.
With that being said, frets need filing down on the sides, the fretboard had a 1/8 inch gap between it and the neck of the guitar in some places all along it, the volume/tone knobs had different depths with one sticking out what seemed like way too far, the strap buttons are massive and takes a while to get the strap on (at least the strap should never fall off then), and the pick up in it are okay. The finish was blotchy is some areas as well. Personally, if you're just looking for a guitar that has the Gibson name on it, this will work. If you're looking for a great guitar that's worth the investment, then this isn't it. More work than trouble when you get it. Also could use upgrading of the tuners.

I returned mine. My Epiphone Les Paul Custom Pro is significantly better than this Gibson.
