Increased sustain and resonance. Less weight, more rock.
Like all VOS (Vintage Original Spec) series instruments, the 1954 Chambered Les Paul Standard VOS is handcrafted for comfort and playability in the Gibson Custom Shop. The construction, neck profile, hardware, and electronics are period accurate, and a special nitro-cellulose finish treatment gives it the patina of a gently-aged vintage guitar.
The body isn't chambered just for weight relief, although your back and shoulder will definitely appreciate it. Gibson uses a computer numeric controlled router to carve out carefully mapped areas that result in louder, more resonant guitars with increased sustain. The chambering is done before the maple top is put on, so there is no change in the guitar's rock solid appearance.
Includes Gibson Custom Shop case, a certificate of authenticity, and custom care kit.

I was given the honor of trying out one of these when a friend of mine's boyfriend brought his to hang out. This guitar can't weigh an ounce! It's like a feather, must be great for shows. The tone, is above par for any les paul I've played. Sustain, HUGE! For me the biggest thing was how well this could tackle anything I threw out there, with a all solid state combo and a Dunlop original wah pedal, it was easier to turn a switch, overdrive up, and sweep a little back, I had a closer sound than my whole pedal board. In short, if you have the money, GET THIS GUITAR!!! It's amazing.
When I first played this guitar I thought to myself I gotta buy it so, I saved money for a while and it's totally awesome. The sustain is crazy it feels comfortable everything you might ever want. The only thing I dont like is the tuners, but that's not a reason not to buy it!
