A meticulously crafted re-creation of an American icon.
The Gibson Custom Shop 1956 Les Paul Reissue Electric Guitar will revise your idea of how an electric guitar should feel and sound. Ted McCarty's Tune-O-Matic bridge was added to the Les Paul in 1956. That, together with individual saddles and thumb wheels to adjust the bridge height, represented a quantum leap forward in intonation, tone, and sustain. This beautifully crafted reissue is a letter-perfect re-creation of that landmark model.
As if that weren't enough, this limited edition Les Paul features a limited edition Antique Gold finish and a walnut back. If you like Goldtops, you'll love this. But you'd better hurry if you want to get your hands on one.
Gibson's Custom Shop produces some of the finest electric guitars on earth. Using the best materials money can buy, a staff of skilled luthiers reproduce some of the greatest Gibson guitars of the past and create stunning new instruments for players and collectors who demand the best.

I had to get it! It was a 'golden' opportunity, so I took it. How many times in life do you get to have a Gibson Les Paul Goldtop?!?!? This was the time and now I own it. It's very cool with the P-90 pickups. The binding has that aged look to it. Makes it look authentic. The gold finish alone is killer! This is one of the guitars you dreamed about when you were just mowin' lawns and tradin' yer comic books! Now it's a reality! The only thing I don't like about it are the plastic tuners and the volume and tone knobs. Other than that, it's toooo cool!
