The original "Back To The Future" guitar that is still rocking the world.
There is no doubt that the Flying V's allure for many of the original guitar gods was its unprecedented body design that allowed complete and unhindered fretboard access. The 1967 Flying V Electric Guitar features a thin, super-fast neck profile and Gibson BurstBucker pickups for beefy PAF overwound pickup tones. A Gibson-style vibrato tailpiece lets you reproduce the great chordal bends heard on records of that era.
A certain aura of mystique surrounds the Gibson Flying V Electric Guitar. An instrument well ahead of its time when it was introduced in 1958, the Flying V's intense magnetic appeal, powerful sound, and unusual shape have made it one of the most instantly recognizable guitars in the world. Gibson President Ted McCarty was looking to add a futuristic aspect to the company's image when he introduced the Flying V, and he nailed it. In fact, it was so far ahead of its time that even the first reissues, almost 10 years later, were only moderately successful.
