More resonant, lighter version of a classic.
The dual benefits of a lighter body and more resonance are achieved by the craftsmen at the Gibson Custom Shop by strategic placement of the chambers that are routed from the mahogany back. The result is a Les Paul that is not only easier on the shoulders so you can play all night long, but is actually louder, with more sustain.
The guitar's '57 Classic humbuckers output the smoothest, richest tone of any of the Gibson pickups.
The 1968 Les Paul Custom has long been a favorite of players and collectors with its distinctive style and long list of appointments. At top of the list is the soothing Antique Pelham Blue finish that actually looks green because it has been yellowed by the Gibson Custom Shop's antiquing treatment. Add to that the trademark split diamond headstock inlay and lavishly bound body.
Gibson's Custom Shop produces some of the finest electric guitars on earth. Using the best materials money can buy, a staff of skilled luthiers reproduce some of the greatest Gibsons of the past and create stunning new instruments for players and collectors who demand the best.

I thought that this guitar would be a keeper, so I ordered it. I was right. Opened the case and smelled the sweet finish and my eyes got a treat too. Although most will not not like such a bold green colored Les Paul, I love the color and perfect finish. Outstanding action/feel. Ebony fretboard is an excellent contrast to the Green color as well as the chrome bridge, stopbar and tuners. This guitar shines. I couldn't tell it was weight relieved at first but now (3 months later) I feel and appreciate the somewhat lighter body. Great sustain and resonance unplugged. I don't even plug it in 1/3 of the time. This guitar sings on it's own. "57 humbuckers are smooth yet powerful and respond to pick attack nicely. Blues/Rock/Jazz/Pop/Country; this can do it with style. Beautiful binding all around & sweet grover kidney tuners hold on tight to the VOS strings. Because the guitar was Murphy aged, the nut should have been slightly darker (too bright white compared to the rest of the ageing) but it is cut perfectly. It's a welcomed addition to my family. It looks great and unique under stage lights. I haven't met anyone with this color, so for that reason I say don't buy this guitar. I want it all to myself.
It exactly what the description reports. Louder better sustain and EASY on the weight. It the best gibson I own. and now my main playing guitar. one beafy neck, so it takes a little time to get used to if you're used to thin soloing necks, this is not a soloing metal guitar. LOVE IT!
