Fantastic pickups. Tone chambers also provide much needed weight relief. Flawless craftsmanship. A Maple Top. Gorgeous hand-selected tone woods. Quite simply the best Les Paul made by Gibson for the working player. Have tried hundreds of Les Pauls I search of a great one over the years. Bought this in 2002 and have never looked back. The best.
Fantastic instrument. It's tough to get a bad tone out of this one. Sounds great through my vintage Fender amps, especially with both pickups selected, neckp/u on 7, and the saddle p/u on about three-simply, heavenly tone especially on the '66 Twin and the '64 Vobro Champ with some tremolo going-WOW. Gives me goosbumps. I thouht I never find better tone with this set up than my '72 LP custom, but the Class 5 really is tops. Also, the Tangerine Burst finish is beautiful. The guy who said to forget the price and buy a Class 5 is right. You simply can't miss with this one even though it is pricey. The other guy that says to wait may also be right. I have 5 Les Pauls, all of unique tone and character, and all very good, but the Class 5 really is tops. Bravo Gibson.
Purchased this guitar a year ago and it is simply the finest instrument that I've ever played. Sustain, fretboard, looks, hardware is all just unreal. Forget the price... save... buy it!!
The burstbuckers (#2, #3) are simply amazing. This guitar sings or screams with the turn of the volume knobs only. HIGH QUALITY from top to bottom. This is THE one to own.
Gibby makes some good guitars at much lower prices. just take the time to shop around and you'll find the deal of a lifetime...stay away from the class-5 at $$$$.
Highly figured tiger-like maple strips. Great tones. Flawless.
