An angler's dream engraved by a master artisan!

As unique as it is arresting, the whole-top anodized black aluminum pickguard on this Gibson Custom Shop Engraved Les Paul Special features an angler's dream tableau hand engraved by Darryl Thornbury. This master engraver has been perfecting his art for over 35 years. Even the pickup and truss-rod covers are engraved. The Gibson luthier who commissioned the piece also happens to make part of his living as a pro fisherman. The luxury doesn't stop with the engraving; an ebony fretboard with pearl trapezoid inlays, Gibson humbuckers, pearl logo on the headstock, and ebony finish throughout create a visually stunning instant collectible.

    Features

    • Hand-engraved black anodized aluminum full-top pickguard
    • Mahogany body
    • Set mahogany neck
    • Ebony fretboard with pearl trap inlays
    • Dual humbuckers
    • Nickel hardware
    • Pearl headstock logo
    • 24-3/4" scale

Wow! Who needs Picasso? Hang this on your lodge wall in a nice display case next to your own five-pounder.

Very nice guitar, Im sure the gibson build quality is there but I no longer believe in their "rare limited one of a kind crap". I purchased a historic 59 limited in the first year they made it. I was assured this was a limited production and woul only escilate in value. Yup...as they sold out gibsom kept right on producing them knocking the value down all along the way. So.. no more limited gibsons for this collector

If you like it and have the money why not! If you are looking for a gift for a musician, however I'd warn you that selecting an instrument at this price level gets to be a pretty personal thing, and don't be disappointed if your honey decides to return it for something different. Makes a great wall decoration.  Keep in mind there is about $2,000 worth of functional musical instrument value here and the rest is just rarity and artistry for the collector.  The value is in the eye of the beholder.
