The Joe Perry Boneyard Les Paul Electric Guitar is straight from the boneyard with sweet sound and stunning looks. From their earliest days as Boston punks to their present-day status as Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductees, Joe Perry and Aerosmith have endured the test of time and triumphed. Just as Aerosmith's music has evolved, so have Joe's ideas about what his Signature Model guitar should be. The Joe Perry Model from the Gibson Custom Shop, with its unique Green Tiger finish and "Boneyard" logo is a dramatic departure from the original 1996 Custom Shop model. AAA figured maple top, single-ply cream binding, BurstBucker 2 and 3 pickups (neck has reversed polarity), aged nickel hardware, "Joe Perry" engraved on truss rod cover. Gibson includes a hardshell case with the Signature Joe Perry Electric Guitar.

Do you love the tones of a Les Paul? Do you hear all of your rock gods when you pinch a bent string at the 4-8 part of the neck. Does your para sympathetic nervous system surge when you bury the mix with a power chord. Do you even know who Peter Green or Duane Allman where?
Well then street price of 4-5 K is going to finish off all your musical needs for this Les Paul "fix". This is what every one should do but only a few do. The reason is that you are hanging a fairly large piece of resonant wood over your shoulder and wraping your hand around a glued in long tenon neck that is probably the biggest neck you have ever felt. If you are doing a 4 hour session standing you will not just feel the tone but the effect of 9 pounds of wood over your shoulder. Now the rush that your tones are giving you will in my case erase that mild discomfort and I am of the no pain no "gain" school. If however you have small hands (Joe does..) and any neck back or shoulder issues consider a weight relieved version that even Joe is working on right now. There is no compromise for the needle being bent over the bar in tone and if your really want to hear the max that a LP can deliver this is probably the best that Gibson does at any price point.

Appearance is stunning. Some more details to the finish would have made this 5 stars as well as the nut issue.
When tuning - the nut sticks to the factory strings.
Does go out of tune - I would have used grovers.
Love the guitar, but at this price point - I would expect the same level of detail/quality.

I have a pilot run #18 stoptail and this is the cream of the crop for me. I love the beefy neck and the flame is impeccable, no bald spots! The tone covers all the bases for me. This baby screams. The middle out of phase position is pretty cool, you can get that Peter Green tone. I usually rip on Gibson for their price, but I can't find a thing I don't like about this axe. Good job Gibson!
