In 1960, the Les Paul guitars as we think of them today were discontinued, replaced by the Les Paul SG design. By 1962 the Les Paul designation was dropped and these instruments became known simply as SGs. Due to public demand the original Les Paul line was then reintroduced in 1968 and has continued to this day. Likewise, the SG has held its popularity with guitarists. It is a rock classic that remains in production and is the guitar of choice for such artists as Angus Young.
Our Private Reserve Les Paul SG Standard is a remarkable reissue, crafted to the original specifications, including the historically correct heel shape, holly peg veneer, tapered peghead, and vintage body shape and scarfing. The one we have in our Private Reserve has a classic white finish and features the truly vintage ABR-1 Tune-O-Matic bridge with short Maestro tremolo.
This guitar also features Custom Shop aged hardware and plastic parts. Tailpiece, tremolo, pickups show the wear to the nickel finish that would be the natural result of years of use, down to the permanently burnt in prints from finger acids and a little rust in the screw slots. This is an incredibly realistic aged effect. The tuning pegs are yellowed, and the edges on the multiply binding show the effects of time. The words RHYTHM and TREBLE labeling the toggle switch are partially worn away. The guitar truly has the look of a 40-something warrior from the rock and roll heyday '60s.

Squeaks, honks, and screams like nobodys business! Every bit as nice as my original - just brand new!!
It plays like butter and sounds great. I have 23 guitars, Gibson, Fender, ESP, Epiphone and others. This guitar is by far the best of all of them!!!
