OVERVIEW

Modern voice with a classic soull

The 2017 Les Paul Custom effortlessly lives up to the high standards set by its 1950s archetype while evolving to a level of tone and performance more suited to today's musical demands. Beneath the layers of its "tuxedo" appointments lies the crisp, edgy voice of a matched 490/498 humbucker set, a long neck tenon for maximum sustain and a two-piece maple top over a solid mahogany body that adds the perfect amount of bite to everything from jazz to hard rock. Includes hardshell case.

Comments about Gibson Custom Les Paul Custom Limited Run - Solid Body Electric Guitar:

The Gibson Les Paul Custom used to be the "pride" of the Les Paul line of guitars. Now and for many years Gibson has taken this top shelf electric guitar and offers it in a "Custom Shop" version only. I don't understand why Gibson didn't leave it as a production line guitar and a "Custom Shop" version? So many companies use Ebony fretboards however Gibson makes the Les Paul Custom in their "Custom Shop" only and switched the "Ebony" fretboard to "Richlite". Richlite was used to fabricate kitchen counter tops in the 1950's. Why would anyone spend close to five thousand for a Gibson Les Paul Custom with a "Richlite" fretboard? I mean it's tough enough for kids to save up for their first Les Paul as it is but the dream of owning a Custom is out of reach for most players. When I was in College 1993 I bought my first Gibson Les Paul Custom used for twelve hundred. It was made in 1991 "Wine Red" with Gold Hardware. Still have it. I still play it and love it. I wish Gibson would put the Les Paul Custom back on the production line like Fender does with the Eric Clapton Stratocaster - production line and "custom shop".

Comments about Gibson Custom Les Paul Custom Limited Run - Solid Body Electric Guitar:

I just played one yesterday...
Orange peal finish.. strange red stain on the white binding along the neck..
What in the world is going on at Gibson?!.. That kind of money for that 'quality'?..
No thank you!
