I am a lousy guitar player, but I have played alot of beauties in my life (my father is a collector, and has over 30 - Rics, Gibsons, and Fenders).
But, this is just a superbly crafted instrument. It is, as my father says, and "heirloom" guitar. Any fool can pick this up and feel the magic. It feels like the sensation you get when you drive a nice car for the first time. I could not be happier than I am with this purchase. My Les Paul feels jealous.
I have been looking for this guitar for years. It has literally everyting I have ever wanted: ebony, block inlays (no dots!), 57 classics, gold hardware.tortoise shell pickguard.
One change I would make (but not enough to change the rating) is I would make the trim on the pickguard (white) the same color as the trim on the guitar (off white).
The guitar is out of this world. It rings will meaty sustain. Makes my mouth water. Out of the box, intonation was set perfectly. The finish shines like a gemstone. It's the kind of guitar you just want to sit and look at. My Les Paul is the only thing that comes close.

Tough question to answer. I got mine as a "used" guitar off of Musicians Friend. I wasn't planning on buying a guitar, but had been watching this one (actually, the one with the Bigsby). It popped up as a "condition 2" described as having "some tarnish on the gold hardware." I ended up getting the guitar for a great price, so I couldn't pass up the opportunity.
When I opened it up, I simply could not find any imperfections on the guitar. Showroom perfect condition.
This will not be the last "used" guitar I buy from Musicians Friend.

I finally decided to get the best of everything rolled into one. Loved my Lucille, neck was too thick, loved my 335, but didn't like rosewood fretboard, wanted block inlays. Gibson finally put all my favorite features in one guitar. This guitar gets all my playing time, Expensive but worth every penny. Pays like a dream and sound great.
