I have owned my Custom Zakk Wylde LP since 2004(Shortly after they started reproduction), I can tell you it's the nicest playing guitar I have next to my 94 Custom 24 PRS. It screams Les Paul! The neck is amazing, the workmanship flawless, and for all of you naysayers I removed the active EMG's and put in Bare Knuckle pickups from England. Talk about tone! It sounded great stock with the Emg's but even better with the Bare Knuckles. I honestly don't think it matters what pickups you put in this guitar! It is built to Gibsons highest standards, and anything will sound good with the wood combination they use in this axe. It sustains forever! I am totally satisfied! It also comes with a Certificate of Authentification. I don't mean to knock Epiphone, but comparing an Epiphone to a Les Paul Custom is like comparing a Ford to a Mercedes..... No Comparison.

First of all this axe has kind of a steep price, but not much more than a standard custom Les Paul. The EMG Pickups make this thing smoke though. This guitar has sustain for days and days. This guitar is more for the hardcore Zakk Fan though. If your looking for an axe with this kind of pickup configuration only, just spend a few dollars and put the EMG?s in another Les Paul. I put them in my other Les Paul Custom and it sounds the exactly the same (smoken hot). The raw oiled Maple neck looks great but plays no different then my other Custom with a painted neck with the exception of maybe feeling a bit slimmer. I absolutely love mine to death and don?t regret the money I spent for it, as I?m a huge Zakk Wylde fan. I play the thing every day and Gig with it as well and am surprised at how well it holds tune. If you want a collectors piece that look great and plays like heaven then go for the bullseye Les Paul. If your not really a Zakk fan and can do with out all the hype then get a plane Les Paul Custom for a few bucks less. I have zero bad to say about this guitar how ever heed this advise. I bought this guitar sight un-seen off the net from a music store in NY City. There hard to find in your local stores and leave you limited to net sources. Luckily mine plays great and I love it. In my opinion all guitars play a bit different. You may play 4 Les Pauls and like only one. I will never buy a guitar again that I have not played and fell in love with first as I don?t believe I can get so lucky again. Happy shopping and best of luck. (Wylde Bill)

Comments about Gibson Custom Zakk Wylde Signature Les Paul Electric Guitar - Bull's Eye:

I have played Les Paul's my whole life. Epiphone's and Gibson's. I played EPI LP's for years. But I had never truly played a LP until I played a Gibson LP. There is no comparison. I have an Epi. with 81/85 emg's and it sound like garbage next to this guitar. Gibson make there guitars in the us with Maple, Mahogany, Rosewood, and other aged, baked, and treated wood. Gibsons are made by hand with ageless quality. Epiphone LP are made in over seas on a factory line with scrap wood. I like an epi guitar but they are not Gibson. That's why there thousands cheaper. I own both, I like my Epi. LP, I wouldn't want to sell it or lose it. I love my Gibson LP and would Die if any thing happened to it. I don't think Epi's make garbage but they don't make Holy Grail guitars like this one. Gibson Does!!!!!!!

        Absolutely hits the mark

        By NowhereMan913

Comments about Gibson Custom Zakk Wylde Signature Les Paul Electric Guitar - Bull's Eye:

This guitar is amazing in all aspects. It has the craftsmanship, the durability, the feel, and the sound. It's not ridiculously pretentious to say that you can FEEL the difference between picking this up versus an Epiphone or even a standard Gibson. While not the most versatile guitar, this thing nails metal and hard rock perfectly. Paired with a dirty amp and a signal boost, this thing absolutely wails. The harmonics and sustain in this guitar are almost unparalleled. The neck is the true revelation, though. It's a raw (but oiled or coated in something very, very light) maple in between the 50s and 60s profile, that seems tailor made for easy playing. I threw a set of GHS GBTNT .10-.52 strings and set it up and it holds tune better than my Les Paul Standard and just sounds amazing. This guitar really is the real deal. $4,000-plus is steep and it's honestly not worth it to most (I had to sell a couple of guitars), but just playing it for five minutes quelled any possible buyer's remorse.

Comments about Gibson Custom Zakk Wylde Signature Les Paul Electric Guitar - Bull's Eye:

In the case of the gibson zakk wylde signature les paul, all you are paying for is the signature. My friend owns one and when i play it it doesn't feel like a guitar worth this much. I own a fake les paul that ice customized with a bigsby, emg active pickups and grovers. IT has the same quality , sound and feel as the gibson but mine cost me only about $800 when i was done customizing. If you have to have the zakk wyld sig. on your guitar, buy the epiphone version and do some fine tuning and modifications then you will have a guitar as good as the gibson for a fraction of the price.

Good guitar, go with the Epiphone

Comments about Gibson Custom Zakk Wylde Signature Les Paul Electric Guitar - Bull's Eye:

This is definitely a fine guitar. I have the Epiphone model, souped it up with EMG 81 and 85 with EMG preamp boost. Thang squeals and crunches like the Wyldeman himself! The only beef i have with this guitar is that the high frets are difficult to reach. I would also prefer 24 frets, but that's just me. Been playing this guitar 2.5 years. I would definitely suggest getting the Epiphone model as it is exactly the same aside from the pickups, which you will have to replace, but you will still save a buttload of dough.

        Best Les Paul to Own

Comments about Gibson Custom Zakk Wylde Signature Les Paul Electric Guitar - Bull's Eye:

I have had 6 different Les Pauls and this one is by far the best, it is a high end, high quality piece. Not just for hangning on the wall, this thing rocks. It plays super smooth, the finish is incredible and it delivers what you expect. Don't take the reviews from those who don't actually own it, you owe it to yourself to actually by one and experience it for more than 2 minutes in a store or see it in an ad form an opinion. I have had this for a year now and love as much or more than when i bought it.

Gibson Custom Zakk Wylde Signature Les Paul

        By Gordon-sV6HT

        from Penrith UK

Comments about Gibson Custom Zakk Wylde Signature Les Paul Electric Guitar - Bull's Eye:

I am in the lucky position of owning two of these guitars. A secondhand one from the first year and another new one from 2008. In terms of quality and playability they are the same. The older one feeling more played in but the newer one being more precise in terms of set up. The best way to describe the difference in sound between the EMGs and passive humbuckers is to say that it's like the sound you get when you change an old dull set of strings on your guitar to a new set. The whole sound brightens up and is more responsive. I am a Zakk nut so the paint job is exactly what I want. It isn't to everyones taste though and I am certain there are a lot of LP players out there who have overlooked this guitar because of the bullseye paint. All I can say is try one and make your own mind up. Zakk himself has said he has had the pick of les pauls 59's the lot but he prefers his every time. I have to say I agree 100% with this. The prices here in the UK are high at the minute with second hand ones rarely seen. My advice is if you want the best les paul sound available then dig deep and get your hands on one of these. I am hoping that at some point Gibson make a repro of the confederate LP that Zakk uses. Come on Gibson I am sure it would sell!

        not worth the money

Comments about Gibson Custom Zakk Wylde Signature Les Paul Electric Guitar - Bull's Eye:

I own the epiphone zakk wylde les paul and put EMG 81 and 85s in it. It plays great. I went to the gibson custom shop in memphis and decided to play the Gibson version. Other than a slightly lighter colored paint job, it was exactly the same as my epiphone. The guitars sounded exactly the same in terms of sound quality and playability. unless your a gibson collector or die hard fan of zakk wylde, I would reccomend getting the epiphone version and having active EMG 81s and 85s installed, because getting this guitar would be a waste of money.
