Half SG, half Flying V, all Zakk.
Here is a tip for the faint of heart - never put these three things together: Zakk Wylde, a bar napkin, and a pencil. As anybody familiar with Zakk will know - and as one listen to his ferocious playing with Black Label Society and Ozzy Osbourne will prove - what springs from Zakk's mind is bound to be wild. After all, this is the man who combined country-flavored chicken pickin' with total metal intensity to revolutionize the sound of heavy guitar. The Gibson Custom Zakk Wylde ZV guitar is no exception. From the mind of Zakk Wylde and the craftsmanship of Gibson Custom comes one of the wildest guitars Gibson has ever made. Just imagine what it would have looked like a few drinks later.

Although some purists find the design to be offensive I have no problems with it at all. The guitar sounds great, plays great, and looks like something gothic warriors would use to kill eachother with. BUUUUUT, there are some glaring issues with this guitar, namely the price. Wow. For this price you should be getting the excalibur of Gibson guitars. Instead you're getting a oddly shaped guitar with really boring features that plenty of cheaper guitars have. Most of that price tag goes straight into Zakk Wylde's bank account anyway. Get the Shred V instead, it comes with a Kahler.
This guitar screams. Many people don't appreciate the radical design of this guitar. The first time I saw this was live and I fell in love with it. Now owning one, I completely understand why. Note: Value-wise, this is top of the line, but not a good investment for someone who does not already own a guitar, as signature guitars are not good first guitars. That aside, this guitar will never let you down. If you're looking for a similar but less expensive alternative, Google "Dean Splittail", I own one also. Both fantastic guitars. good luck.
I don't think Gibson has ever made a copy of another companies product before, so this may be a good investment for the collector. No FR limits creativity. I gave a 5 on quality because Gibson does not make crappy guitars. Value? For the working man, you could have 2 Dean Splittails(w/FR)and still have money in the bank. Would like to see an Epi copy of the Gibson Copy of the Dean.
when i first saw zakk holding this guiatr on google imamges it was crazy i thought he was a paul kinda guy guss not i wish had this one over my gibson les paul studio
I just bought this guitar just a weak ago and this is the best investment I ever made in my life. Its such a great guitar you will never put it down and if you do you will want to play it again again and never stop playing it. This guitar is the craziest to play fast and great pickups and i just have to say the GUITAR! IS PERGECT so buy the guitar if you can and you will never regret it.
This is the guitar gibson should have been making for sixty years. I have always hated the average les paul or fender look. Not to say the tones are very good either. This is the cure for the average looking and playing guitar.
