OVERVIEW

A smaller-bodied flat-top favored by blues players, fingerstyle pickers, and folk artists

Smaller in body but mammoth in tone, the gibson L-00 Pro Acoustic-Electric Guitar is a true classic of acoustic guitars, with roots that stem back to Gibson's legendary pre-war flat-tops. Often favored by blues players, fingerstyle pickers and folk artists, these guitars are noted for their easy playability and decisively full sound. To bring the same style, tone and quality to a smaller-bodied flat-top suited to the performance needs of players today, Gibson presents the L-00 Pro. Crafted in the acclaimed acoustic facility in Bozeman, Montana. Made from premium tonewoods, with period-correct appointments and styling, the L-00 Pro comes factory equipped with an L.R. Baggs® pickup, so it's ready to go straight to the stage. A topflight instrument designed for the demanding professional, the L-00 looks great with its hand-sprayed nitrocellulose lacquer, Antique Natural finish.

Any great acoustic guitar starts with great tonewoods. The Gibson L-00 Pro is built with a solid Sitka spruce top and solid mahogany back and sides. This pairing yields a marriage of sweetness and clarity from the spruce, with added depth and body from the mahogany. The top is supported with an X-brace formed in scalloped spruce braces and trimmed with a decorative multi-ply binding. Single-ply back binding, a single-ring soundhole rosette and a traditional L-00 tortoise pickguard complete the body. The one-piece mahogany neck is set with Gibson's trademark compound dovetail neck joint and hot hide glue adhesive. It is carved to a comfortable modified "V" profile, and topped with a rosewood fingerboard with mother-of-pearl dot inlays. The headstock carries a period-correct decal logo.

To make the L-00 Pro stage-ready straight out of the case, Gibson loads it with an L.R. Baggs® Element™ pickup positioned beneath the Tusq™ saddle of its traditional rectangular rosewood bridge. Via its pre-installed endpin jack, the Element™ beautifully translates all the richness and clarity of this compact flat-top to your acoustic amp or PA, making the L-00 Pro a performance-ready instrument. A black GraphTech™ nut enhances tuning stability and is complemented by vintage-style, open-back nickel tuners.

Each guitar includes a Gibson hardshell case with blue plush-lined interior, an owner's manual, and Gibson's Gold Warranty.

Comments about Gibson L-00 Pro Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I am a Martin guy and was planning to buy the 0 Parlor. I wanted something small for travel and still had a high enough quality to perform. But I was not happy with the sound. I picked up the Gibson It was more balanced and had better balance. The workmanship was superior. I worked it through an amp (Something I could not do with the Martin) and although it had nothing but volume control it sounded great. I bought it and took it home and put it through the numbers. It is slowly becoming my favorite home guitar and will be performing with it next week For what it does it is a great buy.

Comments about Gibson L-00 Pro Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

The fretboard on my guitar was rough-the first time I ran a cloth over it, I got a splinter in my finger. I used a fingernail file to smooth it down. Overall quality not as good as my 412ce Taylor or my 1977 J45 deluxe.

          Bluesy sounding guitar

          By SEXYBLUESMAN

          from near NYC

Comments about Gibson L-00 Pro Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I bought this acoustic guitar here. Sounds great, not very loud but much louder than a parlor. The pickup sounds awesome, transparent and realistic tone. The mahogany back and sides look nice but not high grade. The fretboard is not highest grade either but still nice looking. Tuners are perfect. Fretboard edges are kinda sharp but I like it like that. Frets are perfect up to the 14th fret then they get a little sharp, but who cares. The top is nice but definitely not AA grade. The shorter 24 3/4" scale obviously makes it easy to bend strings but does not sound as good for strumming. Single note soloing is excellent. Has a true vintage 30's bluesy tone through and through. Tusq nut and saddle sound good but kinda stale and well... plastic. I prefer bone, ivory or horn. The one piece neck is so amazing. The 12" rounder radius makes more playabel than 16" radius of Martins. Overall I love this guitar. Any US made Gibson is great. I had a Canadian Gibson once. It was good but doesn't compare to the Montana ones. I like the Advanced Jumbo with the regular 25.5" scale length better than this guitar though.
