The LP Classic Custom is one incredible guitar! Everything was perfect right out of the box. It's worth more than the asking price, but don't tell Gibson that. It has excellent tone and sustain. The maple fretboard is great. This guitar has a slightly brighter tone, IMHO. It's one guitar I'll certainly be holding onto. There's only one thing I would change. I would love to have a satin finish on the neck rather than gloss.

Gibson has a real winner with this model.

Really hot guitar! I must say! Only the neck was very plastic, for an model as that expensive I must say that made me a little sad. But still, hot guitar and nice pickups and nice look! Very sexy!

I bought this guitar 3 months ago and I have yet to put it down. Everything about this guitar screams play me.  It is the 3rd les paul I have owned (I also have a standard and custom).  This is by far and away the best les that I have owned.  The 57 classic pickups sound awesome through my Marshall tube amp.  The neck is super sweet and fast.  It has awesome sustain and I can play just about anything I want on this. I gave it a 4 on value because it is a righteously expensive guitar.  However if you can afford it I highly recommend it.

It's a good guitar and looks absolutely amazing.  It has a classic Les Paul sound, but for my ear I prefer the greater attack and sustain of my Les Paul Standard or my PRS Singlecut.  This guitar is a little mellower sounding, but will still cover blues or rock with aplomb. The neck has the thin 60's taper which makes it very comfortable to play. My only gripes are with some attention to detail issues, which seem to plague many a Gibson (and I've owned five Les Pauls).  First, there are some file marks on the neck and binding by the tenth fret.  They don't impact the instrument's playability, but there is no excuse for file marks on a guitar this expensive.  My PRS and Ibanez guitars don't have file marks on their necks and neither should a Gibson in this price range.  Second, the Gibson logo on the headstock has some black paint overspray.  Third, the strings bind on the nut creating some tuning problems.  Again, there is no excuse for this on a guitar in this price range.  Having said that, the guitar has a good Les Paul sound, looks amazing, and has lots of mojo. You can't put a price on a guitar motivating you to play!  Other guitar may sound better and be better made, but nothing else is an authentic Les Paul.
