From the very first time I played this guitar, I knew it was perfect for me. I loved everything about it, it plays perfect, sounds fantastic and never ever lets me down. I have put numerous different string gauges on with no fret buzz, routed it through every amp I could find, it has never ever let me down. I love it, I would give it five out of five but one time the pickup selector was not responding, I am sure it was nothing, but it was fine ten minutes later. I now am playing nines on it cause I have had a recent bout of tendonitus. (sp?) I should really stop writing and go back to playing it now!
Wellllll. This one's a winner. At least mine is. Features are pretty simple... one tone and one volume. And three way switch. But that makes it really easy to operate and manage. Came with 10's. I usually go with 9's, but this thing plays so easily that 10's on this guitar feel like 9's on others. Perhaps it's the angle of the tailpiece. Whatever, it's great!!!!Top is great, too. I got the Rootbeer finish and the flames are medium wide. Really nice. Neck is great. Feels a tiny bit bigger than what I thought a 60's neck usually feels like, but very comfortable. No binding on the fingerboard, and a couple of the frets are slightly rough. But easily managed with a couple swipes using a jewelry file. Body is thicker than the older DCs (the ones that came out in 1998). These new ones are as thick as a normal LP. Burstbuckers are great pickups, to be sure. And while the price is a bit more than I think it is worth, it's much lower than a LP STD. All in all a great guitar!!!
This guitar is phenomenal. The sound is absolutely perfect for any Gibson fanatic. The top is also incredible, I actually dont have it yet but I am getting it in Trans Amber, The flamed maple top is to die for, along with the burstbucker pro's. This guitar is to die for. I am 15 and have been playing guitar for the past six years, and I have to say that this guitar is absolutely incredible for its price I reccomend it to anyone!!
Right after i opened this it looked awesome and i was way excited. It took a little adjustment on the tun-o-matic bridge though. Love this guitar, looks great, sounds great, actions great. A little too expensive for my taste but it's worth every penny.
I have been playing for 30 years. Have owned many different guitars. The Gibson Les Paul Doublecut Pro is just simply the best I have ever owned. The quality of the construction is top notch. The 60's tapered neck feels very comfortable and the finish is, well, spectacular. A guitar can look pretty but if it does not produce good tone it is not worth any amount of money. The burstbucker pro pickups in this guitar sound amazing. The clean tone is deep and full and the distortion sounds, well, like a Les Paul. What more can you say about that. I have heard others say that they don't like the 2 knob configuration. I prefer it. I have found the tone knob very usefull and it allows me to be very expressive with my tone. This guitar is a gem and I highly recommend it!
This is a player!! The tone is sweet as can be. Growl of a les paul and the feel of a prs. I tried this and the comparable PRS and this guitar smoked it the weight and tone are just tooo sweet. I play mostly blues and this guitar has become my favorite. Nice early clapton feel or sumlin. My only complaint is the two nobs would like to control the tone individually so it gets a slight hit to the features. All my other guitars are now collecting dust because of this guitar. Buy one now!!!
Les Pual tone all the way. The burstbucker pickups are the best sounding thing to happen to a LP since they came out. A little pricey but still cheaper than the LP standard. Finish was nice and action incredible out of the box. Miss the 2-vol/2 tone though
The guitar sounds and plays like you expect a les paul to sound like. The Burstbucker pickups are the best thing to happen to a Paul when played clean. Chords sound full and vibrant, not like a ball of mud.
