Gibson

The legend continues with 21st-century neck refinements.

The Gibson Les Paul Standard Traditional Left Handed Electric Guitar earns its name thanks to the traditional features you expect in a Les Paul guitar: mahogany body, set neck with rounded '50s profile, maple top, and a pair of Gibson's '57 Classic humbucker pickups. One significant, yet not-so-traditional improvement: the neck is analyzed by Gibson's Plek machine. Using computer precision Gibson Plek files the frets and cuts slots in the nut to an accuracy of a hundredth of a millimeter for optimal action and intonation without string buzzing.

Great Buy

Features:

All knobs and saddle adjustments run smoothly, good intonation and retains a decent tuning stability

Quality:

The only reason I did not gave it a 10 was due to a very minor paint flaw in the side of the guitar, It seemed it needed a bit more polishing. Otherwise the paint job was flawless and the neck feels awesome. The frets are smooth.

Value:

The price could go down a bit considering the cost efficient methods used and automated process used now a days.

Overall:

The guitar sounds great, It's warm, clear and deep but not muddy. It's got a good weight balance, the heft makes it a bit on the heavy side but a good strap will take care of that. The neck is beefy, it may take some time to get used to it, specially if youre used to playing Strats or other modern guitars, but the beffiness adds depth and sustain. The guitar feels rock-solid and it seems that it can endure the test of time.

The guitar that was sent to me had the Top Hat knobs instead of the Speed Knobs, and the turners were Nickel and not chrome as described.

This guitar sounds great.  I used to have a 1979 Les Paul Custom, and this guitar sounds better!!!
