This guitar is obviously gibson quality. I could go on and on about how amazing it sounds and feels but if you're considering this guitar you've proably already test-played one and know. There is little difference between the 50's and 60's neck, so if your worried about that, don't be. I use it mainly for jamming, recording and planning small venue gigs. I do have some beefs with minor detail flaws in this guitar. I did have to order this online and get it internationally shipped. There were small, barely noticable scratch marks on the body and the plek machine left some indents on the fret-board binding. Again, it doesn't change the playability and is barely noticeable but when u pay upwards of $2200 for a guitar, it should be flawless in it's craftmanship. I got the chicago blue and it looks beautiful. It does seem darker than the picture so be aware of that. I highly reccomend this guitar; if you can find one in a shop and inspect it for details (saves you the trouble of dealing with an online store) and obviously test-play before buying. :)

like the other reviews before mine, my les paul (iced tea finish) had really bad paint runs. MF's customer service was accomodating and friendly, which i have no complaints about. saving up for 15+ years for the guitar i've always wanted to buy...and it comes with paint runs so i have to send it back for an exchange...that's pretty frustrating. it PLAYED great-just as i expected. i'm just waiting for one with a better paint job to show up at my door.

Comments about Gibson Les Paul Standard Traditional Plus Electric Guitar:
I received my used Les Paul Traditional, Desert Burst today and what a guitar. MF rated it as a level 1. This guitar looks like it has never been out of the case. There's not even a mark on the pick-guard, I am very impressed. The quality of this instrument is excellent as described. It was half the price of the MSRP. I highly recommend persuing a used instrument from them if you don't want to afford a new one. Five stars. Thanks MF, a very satisfied customer!!

Comments about Gibson Les Paul Standard Traditional Plus Electric Guitar:
Very sweet guitar. I little on the heavy side but it really sings.I expected a little lower action without fret buzz due to the "plek" but im still very happy with it.50's neck not as fat, actually comfotable. The very tip of the headstock looked like Gibson missed a small spot of stain- Gibson customer service said "its a hand made guitar- there are going to be imperfections". Not really the response I was hoping for.

Comments about Gibson Les Paul Standard Traditional Plus Electric Guitar:
I have two of the 2011 models, without the laminate fretboards. I sold my Standard, and Classic for them. These Traditionals are what Les Paul intended the guitar to be. The materials are high quality, though I'm not a fan of Gibson pups. So, toss in another 80-100 for a good setup, and this guitar will sing, for any genre of music. Just fantastic.

Comments about Gibson Les Paul Standard Traditional Plus Electric Guitar:
Received guitar about a month ago. It is incredibl! Everything from sound to comfort. It also looks good (got Heritage Sunburt). I have other guitars but they don't even compare to this LP. It is pricey - but worth it. It is THE guitar to play heavy classic rock - Zep, AC/DC, Montrose, Priest, Bad Co, etc. MF matched priced of another web site, shipped as promised and came flawless - good experience.

Comments about Gibson Les Paul Standard Traditional Plus Electric Guitar:
I have two of these; Light Burst and Ebony, and have owned them for two years and one year respectively. Both are perfect. The action sets up nice and low, intonation dials in perfectly with room left in the saddle travel. Excellent fit and finish, fretwork, etc. Pickups and tone are great, sounds like a Les Paul. These Traditionals are heavy. Mine weigh in around 9 lbs. or so, but I would much rather have that than the previous chambered models, many of which were neck-heavy. If a guitar is the slightest bit neck heavy, I pass it by at all cost. These guitars are far from neck-heavy, almost to the point of rolling off my lap. But I have no complaint; I just wanted to note that. Solidly built, great tone, excellent playability and beautiful to look at. You can't go wrong unless you have a bad back.
