Faded finish enhances simple, elegant design.

Delivers all the performance and power of the standard Studio, but with a thin, faded finish for an aged, vintage look and more resonance. Crafted with a mahogany body with maple top, mahogany neck, and rosewood fingerboard. The 490R neck and 498T bridge pickups with Alnico II magnets provide traditional humbucker tone with enhanced highs.

The arrival of the Les Paul Studio Electric Guitar in 1983 offered guitarists all the essential elements of a Les Paul Standard, including a carved top and humbucking pickups. The simple elegant design quickly made it the most popular model in the Gibson Les Paul Guitar Series.

I had one of the first?s LP studios made. Belong to a friend. Whit this guitar I felt in love of the Gibson Les Paul guitar. I took it back to my friend after a few months using it. Recently, I bought a Faded Cherry but I sold it because I did not like the sound, it?s a good sound but it?s not for me. I was looking the original sound that I heard on my friend?s guitar. I bought this Faded Maple Top around one year ago? and yes! This one has the tone that I was searching, very nice vintage look, sustain, fat deep sound in the neck pickup and bright gain in the bridge pickup, the action is very good. I use it with a Fender Blues Junior and sometimes an ME-50 and its sound it?s fantastic. Buy it!

This is a pretty solid axe. It has the trademark Les Paul tone everyone loves. But the only reason it costs what it does is because of the name on the peghead. As far as visuals, I don't like that it has no binding although the finish was nice. In short, pass up the name on the headstock, Go get an Epiphone LP Custom and drop some Burstbuckers in it, and pat yourself on the back for getting a better overall guitar and saving a few hundred C-notes.

I got this guitar three months ago for my birthday, and I've been majorly impressed by the quality of it.  I've played standars and customs before, and this guitar flat out beats them down.  At first, I was worried that the faded finish would look ugly and take away from the sound.  However, the finish makes the guitar even more distinctive while playing unplugged and it sounds great plugged in too.  Not to mention it looks gorgeous.  The pickups are the same exact ones used on the Les Paul Supremes and Les Paul Customs.  These pickups delver incredible versatility.  I can play anything from heavey metal, to classic rock, to country, to power ballads on this guitar.  I play it with my Spider III combo and it sounds amazing clean or distorted.  The faded finish on the neck makes it easy to move up and down the neck with great speed.  A guitar that plays like this and has all of this top-notch equipment is an absolute STEAL at this price.  If you're contemplating purchasing this guitar, DO IT!

This guitar is awsome!  I was not in one way disappointed.  I will agree with some people that it doesn't scream as much as the standard or standard plus, but it will get the job done without question.  I love the features on this guitar.  I especially love the fact that it is made right here in the U.S.A.  This is one of the main factors that persuaded me to buy this fine piece of equipment.  Overall, this guitar is the bomb when it comes to having an affordable guitar with almost all the features of a guitar costing over 3 times as much.

I think this guitar rocks..mine came with no problems.  I put new strings on and it plays everything. Metal, blues, old rock is unreal.  The sound is the best I have heard on any gibson.  I think the lack of lacker is a good thing!  Looks great and sounds great!!
