Everything you've ever wanted from a Les Paul, plus figured maple.
In 1983, Gibson came out with the Les Paul Studio, featuring the same carved-top craftsmanship and world-famous Les Paul tone, but slightly simplified to make it more affordable. Now a lot of players prefer its cleaner visual appeal. The Gibson Les Paul Studio Plus enhances this appeal with a figured AA carved maple top set off by gold hardware. 490R and 498T Alnico II magnet humbucker pickups crank out the tone you crave while the 22-fret rosewood on mahogany neck plays fast yet feels solid and substantial. Pearloid trapezoid inlays complete its visual elegance. Tune-o-matic bridge with stopbar tailpiece.

This is the fourth Gibson I have owned in my life. I have an old S1 (look that one up!)a custom shop explorer from the 80's and a '73 LP deluxe. THIS GUITAR IS THE BEST! I cannot even put into words how easily and smoothly this guitar plays. I normally play an '80's charvel..(nice) but now that I have this guitar I haven't touched my char. The tone is pure les paul and the neck is super fast. Did I mention the looks?OMG it's Beautiful. I bought the iced tea and she is incredible. Sustain for days. Now...for the bad stuff. The case has the fuzz inside and it came already falling off. I just glued it back. No biggie. The selector switch for treble and rhythm had some issues. When I switched between the two the treble kept cutting out. This fixed itself after a couple of hours so I'm still holding my breath. Also, there are a couple of small flaws in the finish but you'd have to look hard to find them. All in all, this guitar is worth a helluva lot more than you have to pay for it and I would highly recommend it. Many people worry about the no binding issue but this lines are very clean. The wood is of very high quality and I was shocked by how nice she looked. By the way, people talk about how heavy LP's are but this guitar is much lighter that my charvel. Very comfortable. I'm very happy with my purchase. Thank you Musicians Friend.

i've noticed a slight difference in weight from my 93 les paul studio. this seems to be a tad lighter, although the sound is almost the same as my 93. i'd say a tad brighter than i'm used to in the treble selection. but still vintage les paul sound, baby! extremly happy. i bought the transparent black version of this guitar and i'm not disappointed at all. one of the most beautiful things i've ever seen. Les Paul is all i'll ever play! and i've played em all.
Great guitar for straight ahead rock. Great in standard tuning, but lacks a little in drop-D.
This was and still is my first good quality guitar and I couldn't be happier. For the price I spent for it, it feels like it shouldve been a lot higher. The finish on this guitar is awesome and is just a marvel to look at. The factory settings suited me well and I only had to lower the action just a tad. However, it has a couple of kinks but I got used to it because they were minor and do not affect the guitar greatly. Great for blues and rock n roll but if your looking for metal I'd look else where.
No binding, but who cares! This guitar SCREAMS! This is the best sounding Les Paul that I have ever heard!
As in the title, beware of the finish before you buy. the actual guitar finish looks nothing like the pic. Look at the lp standard 60's burst finish and there it is. now, this guitar ROCKS!! I've been playing it actively for a while now and this thing is incredible. very versatile and easy to play. get one if you can. god bless <
I have experimented with many diferent guitars over the years (ESP, Fender, Gibson SG) but no other guitar even comes close to the LP Studio Plus. I strapped in an EMG-81 in the bridge and an EMG-85 in the neck. With the combination of an already brilliant guitar along with powerful pickups, it allows me to chunk out riffs with incredible brightness and clarity. The neck is insanely smooth, too.
The Studio Plus is actually less expensive than the regular Studio, and in my opinion it looks better with transparent colors showing the wood flame. Why would you want to pay more for a Studio when you can pay less for a better Studio Plus?
This guitar is beautiful, great sounding & plays effortlessly. A nice case too! I prefer the looks better than the more expensive standard LP too.
Great value, plays and sounds great. Great looking too!
This Les Paul was everything I ever wanted in guitar and more. It was even better looking in person than it was in the picture. It's exactly the quality you would expect from Gibson. I'm very happy with my investment.
