OVERVIEW

With all the fat, sweet, snarling Les Paul tone that purists love.

Taking design and visual cues from the Les Paul models of the '80s and '90s, the Les Paul Traditional Pro III EX Electric Guitar features powerful pickups with push/push for coil splits, coil selector and boost circuit, '60s neck profile, antique binding, period-correct pickguard, vintage Gibson top hat knobs, locking Grover tuners and the revolutionary Plek set up.

With all the fat, sweet, snarling Les Paul tone that purists love, the Gibson Les Paul Traditional Pro III sports a mahogany body with a thick figured maple cap for the perfect blend of warmth and clarity. The top is finished in high-gloss lacquer, while the back, sides, and neck have a smooth satin finish that feels great and lets the wood resonate fully. Includes hardshell case.

Comments about Gibson Les Paul Traditional Pro 3T Figured Maple Top:

What can I say. It sounds like a Les Paul should: fat, snarly, rich crunchy. I never really was looking for push pots but it really makes for a versatile guitar

Comments about Gibson Les Paul Traditional Pro 3T Figured Maple Top:

Let me first say that I have been a Fender Strat/Tele kind of guy mostly. I've tried Les Paul's in store and they just never hit me right. On a whim after reading the description I decided to get this 'hot rod' LP! Guess what? I love it! I can get all kinds of different tones with all the options it has.Two pickups, 3 switch positions, 10 dB boost, coil split !!!! Va-room! I am having a hard time to put it down to play my other great guitars.
The setup was really good. I haven't had to touch it to make adjustments to any of the string related things. Bottom line, if you want a Les Paul, or a guitar with a lot of special features for a good price that you will love to play, I recommend you save your pennies and get this. Even came with a great guitar case! Yay!

Comments about Gibson Les Paul Traditional Pro 3T Figured Maple Top:

I previously purchased the same guitar in the Vintage Cherry Sunburst at GC, but really wanted the Vintage Sunburst but there were none in stock. So when this went on sale I had to jump on it. It arrived with a busted push/push pot, MF agreed to exchange for me but Gibson offered to send me a new pot under warranty so I did that instead. First thing I noticed when I played it was that the neck seemed thicker than the Cherry one even though they both specified the 60's Slim Taper neck. It felt more like my LP Studio with the 50's neck. Then I compared the model numbers. Cherry Sunburst was LPTPA36SCH1 and the Vintage Sunburst was LPTPA35TVSCH1. That made it certain that the Vintage has a 50's neck and the Cherry the 60's. The neck type doesn't bother me at all, so it's a keeper. Just keep that in mind if you decide to buy. It's a great price for a great guitar, and they won't last long at that price.
