Comments about Gibson Limited Edition L-00 12 Fret Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I've enjoyed playing and recording with small-bodied 12-fret guitars (Parlor, 0, 00, 000) for some time now. And, I've been interested in owning a Gibson L-00 12-fret for a few years now. I happened to come across one of these last month and purchased it on the spot. Wow! Right off the bat the aesthetics, while on the plain side, just pop with that nicely-grained Adirondack spruce top and sunburst finish. While the neck profile is not historically vintage it is very comfortable and easy to play. Was concerned it was not quite 1.75" at the nut (it's 1.725) and the scale length is slightly longer (25.00 vs. 24.75") but turned out to be a non-issue. The mahogany body paired with the Adirondack top, X-bracing and 12-fret body produce a pleasing warm tone that is not overly bright with 80/20 strings. The projection is amazing for a guitar of this size.

The only downside, which has nothing to do with the guitar itself: Needs a better pickup than the Baggs Element! Would have been better if Gibson had put in a better pickup or had installed no pickup at all.

This L-00 has become one of my favorites of the dozen or so acoustics I own.
