Offers up breathtaking Les Paul performance in a modern, no-frills package.

The 1960s Tribute Left-Handed electric guitar consists of a basic Gibson Les Paul chassis with all the essential elements needed to rock including a Nashville Tune-O-Matic bridge with stopbar tailpiece and Kluson-style tuners keep it all rock-solid and resonant and its gnarly P-90 tone stays true to the Les Paul style.

A solid, carved maple top and chambered mahogany body give the Les Paul Studio '60s Tribute the same tonewood combination that has been helping Les Pauls rock for nearly 60 years. Authentic vintage-style finishes present a guitar with the look of a well played original, while the instrument's unbound body and neck keep it in line with the popular Les Paul Studio line.

The headstock of the Gibson Les Paul Studio 1960s Tribute is equipped with Grover Kluson style green keys. With a gear ratio of 14:1, these tuners deliver precision tuning in a durable housing that provides maximum protection for the gear and string post. The Gibson Les Paul's Tune-O-Matic bridge, sets a standard for simplicity and functionality that has never been bettered. The Tune-O-Matic provides a firm seating for the strings, allowing the player to adjust and fine-tune the intonation and string height in a matter of minutes.

Both the neck and bridge position pickups are equipped with cream-colored screaming single-coil P-90 pickups. The P-90 was the standard pickup on all Gibson guitars in the late 1940s and into the 1950s and because of its crisp, bright tone it has experienced resurgence in popularity with many of today's modern rockers. These classic Gibson guitar pickups deliver sizzling, slightly gritty midrange roar. You'll find that the P-90s' high output and biting treble has more nuanced harmonic coloring than the typical single-coil pickup.

What can I say? It's a Paul. from Rock Dinosaur

    By Rockdinasour

Comments about Gibson Limited Run Les Paul Studio '60s Tribute Left-Handed Electric Guitar:

I don't think anyone will quarrel with the overall sound. It is amazing. The thing that really impresses me though, is the overall appearance of this Les Paul. There's nothing about it that says it's a wannabe. It looks and feels great on stage. And it gets this bell ringing stomping sound that you would expect from a Les Paul. Still in all I'll bet someone will have to put humbuckers in it. Don't even think about it!
The gold top studio Les Paul is a treasure that only becomes more valuable as it is available in the left hand orientation. I always wanted a gold top so I bought one. This instrument defines hard bluesy rock music. It has all the sounds and all the tones. Plug it into a Marshall, crank it up, and you'll understand. Why bless my soul!
Mine was put together with the utmost of care I presume. It may not have the Deluxe bells and whistles but this thing really looks good. I definitely would buy another one.
I think here you're getting what you pay for. It is basically a no frills Gibson guitar that looks and sounds incredible.

left handed gibson les paul studio '60s tribute guitar

Comments about Gibson Limited Run Les Paul Studio '60s Tribute Left-Handed Electric Guitar:

i wish i had a few more of them.
This guitar is worth twice the selling price. Unfortunately I bought mine before I noticed that it was available on-line here, so i paid a little more than I could have..(lesson learned).
First off, it is a GIBSON! It plays like a dream, looks to die for and sounds as nice as it looks. All of the features and the components of this guitar add up to a truly professional instrument, starting with the versatile P90 pickups. On top off that is the 1960s profile neck, which is at least for me a little more comfortable than the normal Gibson Les Paul neck. And last but not least is the beautiful "Worn Gold Top Finish"..(laquer, of course). The only thing that i am sorry about is that i don't have the money to get one of each color.
    tommy
only thing i would like would be body binding.
as i said, worth twice the price.

In love with playing all over again

Comments about Gibson Limited Run Les Paul Studio '60s Tribute Left-Handed Electric Guitar:

After reading several reviews I decided to take a chance. Glad I did, I've inspected this guitar inside and out. I must've got a good one. I absolutely love this guitar. I set the string heighth and intonation and that's it. 2 reasons why I did not give it a 5 overall; #1. I didn't receive any paperwork on this guitar at all, had to go on line to register for warranty. And #2. The volume and tone controls are wired for a righty. I thought I could get used to that, but absolutely not. I'm checking now to see if an authorized Gibson dealer local can fix that for me and keep my warranty intact. Otherwise I would've already fixed it myself.

    Sweet Sound, poor quality control

    By MisterJim

Comments about Gibson Limited Run Les Paul Studio '60s Tribute Left-Handed Electric Guitar:

I had always lusted after a goldtop LP so when I saw they were making a limited run of these I placed my order and waited like many of us. When I received it the gig bag zipper was broken--no biggie as I'll propably get a hardshell case. But the bridge pickup did not function. After inspecting wiring I found that the solder on one of the terminals of the 3 way switch had spread to the middle hot and was just giving me the neck pickup. That and the reouting of the switch cavity had left wood shavings behind which could cause switch issues. Seems like they were in a hurry to make these. I do love the sound of the p-90s and love the look of the goldtop but I expected more from Gibson. Hopefully mine is a rare instance.
